4th Sunday of Easter
Sobbing for Joy
…I will lay down my life for the sheep.
John 10:15

Sadly, more than a few people feel that they are too awful to be loved by God. Many of them grew up feeling rejected and worthless. So, when hearing a message of God’s love, they might believe it for others, but they struggle to accept it for themselves.

What might such wounded people do? They would likely benefit from a healing experience of real love, either directly from God or another person. I recommend they pray for a personal experience of God’s love and/or belong to a loving community of faith.

In reality, all of us have only a limited awareness of the depths of God’s love. If we truly experienced it, we would sob for joy. Our hearts would overflow with love and gratitude. We would want to share this amazing news with everyone.

Heavenly Father, may we experience your infinite love and mercy for each of us and courageously share this Good News with the world.

Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those experiencing natural disasters, Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, the Sudan, and all those suffering around the world - also for their strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

So very true, "If we truly experienced it, we would sob for joy. Our hearts would overflow with love and gratitude. We would want to share this amazing news with everyone!" Yes, I have experienced and continue to experience God's love for me, in my daily life and in my sinful life! *** Romans 5:8-9, "But here is how God has shown His love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The blood of Christ has made us right with God. So we are even more sure that Jesus will save us from God’s anger!" *** 1 John 4:9-10, "Here is how God showed His love among us. He sent His One and only Son into the world. He sent Him so we could receive life through Him. Here is what love is. It is not that we loved God. It is that He loved us and sent His Son to give His life to pay for our sins!" *** Ephesians 2:4-5, "But God loves us deeply. He is full of mercy. So He gave us new life because of what Christ has done. He gave us life even when we were dead in sin. God’s grace has saved you!" ******* Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life - and to me they are paradoxical: The Way of Jesus is the calvary road to the cross, the Truth that all human beings are sinners and His death is the reason we live!!! *** We are loved by God doesn't mean smooth sailing with God taking away or healing all our difficulties and challenges - look at what happened to Jesus: three years of being with clueless disciples, persecution and rejection by His own people and finally death on the cross for commiting no crime!!! *** Isaiah 55:8-9, "My thoughts are not like your thoughts. And your ways are not like My ways,” announces the Lord. “The heavens are higher than the earth. And My ways are higher than your ways. My thoughts are higher than your thoughts!" *** Calling for "JOY - Jesus Other Yourself" in James 1:2-4, "My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy. Your faith will be tested. You know that when this happens it will produce in you the strength to continue. And you must allow this strength to finish its work. Then you will be all you should be. You will have everything you need!"

Thank you Msgr Rosetti for your inspiring reflection full of the Love of God for all of us.At Mass last evening the priest spoke about Jesus’s words of today’s gospel and he emphasized “ I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd. This is why my Father loves me.” Truly a great reason to be “sobbing for joy!” Amen.

Msgr Stephen thank you. Your words really make me think more about the reality of who God is. Everyday I say Isaiah 54:10 to remind myself that although I am human but God still loves me. You put this back into perspective for me. Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the Lord, who has mercy on you. Blessings to all the LFF and prayers for all needing a wee bit more help these days. May we all go out and spread the love of God throughout all the world.

Living faith family one of the things that I read in the morning. I will share. "Jesus Calling" Sarah Young Do not be afraid for I am with you. Hear me saying " Peace, be still " to your restless heart. No matter what happens, I will never leave you or forsake you. Let this assurance soak into your mind and heart until you overflow with joy. Though the earth give way? And the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, you need not fear. The media relentlessly proclaimed bad news :for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A steady diet of their fare will sicken you? Instead of focusing on fickle ever-changing news broadcast, tune in to the living word, the One who is always the same. Let's scripture saturate your mind and heart, and you will walk steadily along the path of life. Even though you don't know what will happen tomorrow, you can be absolutely sure of your ultimate destination. I hold you are your right hand and afterward. I will take you into Glory. Ken
