I was raised on a 300-acre dairy farm near Kensington, Ohio. My primary and secondary education was in the public schools. After high school I entered the seminary in Cincinnati and in 1962, was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio. After 20 years of local parish ministry, I was privileged to attend a three-month study and travel program in Rome and Israel. I have been a weekly columnist for our diocesan newspaper and have written books on scripture, homiletics and practical psychology. Since 2000 I traveled extensively, preaching parish missions with Isaiah Ministries and giving other retreats. I live now in Louisville, Ohio.
I have written for Living Faith since 1993. My hope is that these spiritual devotions will bring blessings and encouragement to those who read them.
Living Faith provides brief daily Catholic devotions based on one of the Mass readings of the day. Published new each quarter, these reflections are written by women and men from a variety of backgrounds - lay people as well as clergy and religious. Learn more.
