Every now and then, St. Paul’s letters sound like some advice from Dear Abby. The passage we hear today is one of those.
Feeling anxious? Stressed? Worried about politics, wars, divisions? Listen to some tips from the tentmaker from Tarsus. “Have no anxiety at all,” Paul writes, “but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God” (v. 6).
That’s just for starters. There’s more.
Aim higher. Focus on what is lovely, just, pure, true, honorable, gracious, he says. The result? You will know God’s peace. In our polarized world, ripped apart by conflict and bitterness, here is uplifting advice for the first Christians—a message of quiet reassurance and hope that still resonates. Paul’s point is so simple: Strive to seek the good, live in gratitude, pray to a merciful God. Trust him. He will handle it.
Looking for some advice on how to find peace? There it is.
Who would not want to follow it?

Amen. :)

I want to challenge this Ohana (family) to be thankful for the many gifts you have to be lead by the One who creates you and me to spread the kingdom of God to all you meet and greet in the name of...

*** How to obtain and receive Gods peace in Philippians 4:6-9, “Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to Him. Then God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds. He will do this because you belong to Christ Jesus. God’s peace can never be completely understood. Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of...
