Jesus sends his disciples out on their first mission, empowering them to teach, heal and drive out demons. Imagine their excitement! They get to extend Jesus’ mission in towns near and far. But then Jesus tells them to take nothing for the journey. Instead, they are to rely totally on God and the hospitality of the people they will meet along the way.
