Have you ever stopped to think about what a miracle a seed is? Something so incredibly small contains so much information, knows exactly what it must do to grow, bloom, bear fruit and become what it was meant to be. If the conditions are right, it may yield a dahlia, a ball of cotton, a climbing vine, an apple. Different yields but all born of fertile soil and the miracle of seed.
So, too, is the miracle of God’s Word in our heart. The Word contains all the information that we need to become who we are meant to be, but it is up to us to respond to God’s call and, with his help, make sure that conditions are right. It's not always easy in a world like ours to keep the soil of our hearts open and broken, to find time to tend the ground, to make room for growth. But like any seed in good soil, if the Word of God finds the condition in our hearts to be right, so much miraculous fruit will be borne of our lives that we can scarcely imagine it.

Amen. :)

Dear Lord, At this late stage in my life I pray that I have been and will be all that I was created to be. And yet one will be a carrot, one a bush, one a flower……now the connection in Paul’s letter about our resurrected bodies…..our human bodies are seeds. They may be a different color or size but relatively they are the same as to be...
