When Paul describes us as “God’s field” (v. 9), it is an invitation to remain open to be cultivated by the Spirit, ready to receive seeds of grace, wisdom, love and purpose. We are watered through the Word and pruned for fruitfulness. However, I often wonder: Are we receptive to God’s care? Have we created space in our hearts where God can work, even when growth seems slow or invisible? Can we trust God to soften even the hardest soil in our hearts?
Paul also describes us as “God’s building” (v. 9). It’s an invitation to see ourselves as dwelling places for God’s Presence, to be God’s co-workers and part of a masterpiece being brought to life. What an incredible and humbling invitation!
So, when unforeseen storms threaten my growth, peace and foundation, I find solace in God’s invitation to partnership, trusting that every act of faith, every step forward, is another stone laid upon a foundation that is Christ.
