Years ago, I taught morality and ethics courses to tenth graders. It was rare that a teen would enter my classroom eager to learn about morality, to study the Commandments and consider how they could be better obedient. No matter how creative or enthusiastic my instruction was, many pupils offered resistance. I began to wonder if youths express what is true for most: “We don’t really like being told what to do; we’d rather figure things out and decide on our own.”
Yet, our God is a loving parent, a Father who created the entire universe with rules, natural laws that create order and reveal love. If we respect the laws that God has given us, then God’s goodness and love could be more apparent. Yet, we often wrestle and resist instead of obeying. No matter our age, it is wise to move beyond the homework of knowing and understanding God’s law. Let’s also love God’s law. Let’s meditate on God’s designs, and let this goodness rule our lives.

Lessons I have learned along the journey of life. I know I rebelled against God’s law a lot time. Confessions of sins, asking for forgiveness, making changes and living my life to the fullest. Being fulfilled to do well in following the laws of God. Loving God will all my heart, strength, mind and soul. To love my neighbor as I do myself. Blessings of llove, kindness, justice and mercy.
