The many titles given to Mary are quite striking, including today’s title of Queen. The fifth Glorious Mystery of the Rosary is even more explicit where Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. On earth, we honor this humble, faith-filled woman as our Mother and we believe that she is greatly honored in heaven.
But in approved Marian apparitions, it is clear that our Queen does not point to herself. Her constant desire is that we would honor her Son. She birthed Jesus into our world and fervently desires that he be birthed again into our hearts.
Today’s Scripture keeps this focus on Jesus. It reminds us that we have one Father in heaven and one master, Jesus Christ.
