Every spring, the same thing happens. Without any help from me, dozens of perennial flowers and plants all around my house rise and bloom. After being buried in the dark and cold for months, these frozen seeds come to life in the warmth of the spring sun and push through the crust of the earth to begin another season. I know it shouldn’t surprise me, but it does.
We often worry about those we love who no longer practice the faith that was planted in them. But as I stand in wonder before these perennial blooms, I am reminded that we all have seasons, and we all have “imperishable” seeds of faith sown in us. So we are called not to despair but to hope. We are called to gently nourish these seeds. We are called to be patient and let God work in the dark and cold.

Amen. :)

Steve your words are soothing. I can just feel the blooming that will come soon. We so need it. Peggy R. thank you for your good wishes. All of you are in my prayers! Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs! Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all and help us to bloom in Gods love to create a more heavenly earth.

Amen Amen Amen God be with us all

Thank you Steve, much needed and said in a way I needed to hear.

Jesus guide me on my path. I am amazed each spring with the growth cycle. Such small sprouts grow into beautiful plants. Steve, thank you for your words today. Amen!

What a beautiful reminder. Thank you.

I love gardening analogies Steve, they respond to daily care and bloom at their appointed time. There is a season for everything, and often what appears dormant or dead will respond when the time and conditions are right. The life of St. Paul is a good example. Keep right on until the end of the road. The Garden of Eden is out destination.

True, Steve. As a parent of a few who have not practiced their faith in a while, I know that they are indeed good people and for whatever reason, they choose not to attend. They are still beautiful blooms that are at least, not surrounded by weeds.

Amen.

I know I have bought seeds in the mail because they were cheaper and they did not last :-( *** So what seeds are we supposed to plant? Not just being s good, functioning and society-contributing individual, but seeds of faith in the “imperishable” Word of God in 1 Peter 1:23, “You have been born again by means of the living Word of God. His Word lasts forever. You were not born again from a seed that will die. You were born from a seed that can’t die!” *** Why the Word of God because it is imperishable” in 1...
