When people are gathered around the bed of a person who is actively dying, it seems that every word spoken by the dying one carries particular weight. There may be reassurances, a sharing of wisdom, blessings to be imparted or poignant words of farewell. We can find all of those elements in the final discourse of Jesus and also something more. That something more is his word: that if we request and entreat in his name, we will be heard. We will receive.
Can we hear already now the echoes of resurrection joy unfolding? Not simply because we ask, but because we ask with confidence in the power of that holy name. Jesus, full of tenderness, is thinking of you. Of me. And desiring the fullness of joy for every one of us.

******* Who is Jesus talking to in John 16:23b-24, “What I’m about to tell you is true. My Father will give you anything you ask for in My Name. Until now you have not asked for anything in My Name. Ask, and you will receive what you ask for. Then your joy will be complete!” *** Is ‘you’ me? *** Is ‘you’ you? *** It is everyone who ask for anything in ‘Not Jesus’ name(s)!!! ******* So who do ask for anything???

Thank you Lord for helping me love you more and more every day God is great Amen Amen Amen

Such a beautiful devotional, Sr. Chris. Thank you for bringing Jesus’s promise to us first in our minds. Dear Jesus, thank you for giving me another day on this earth to live my life in service of others, because we see Your face in everyone we meet.

Sr. Chris, your devotion today brought back the memory of a conversation I had with my dad as he was dying. I miss him, but know that I will see him again someday. Thank you. Amen.

Sr. Chris your words give reassurance that I can do this. Thank you. I feel emotionally weak as of late and need to remember to trust in Jesus to guide me. The answers aren't proving to be easy but I will remind myself each morning to trust in Jesus/God. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days, Vicky G. and her family, Cindy, Cheri, Janet, and all those needing the strength to trust. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a more heavenly earth.

Amen!

Amen!

Thank you for this! I was able to hold my Mom's hand as she passed on March 7, 2022, my oldest brother's birthday. We all, many grandchildren too, made it to see her that day and as a faithful Catholic woman, we know she went home where she belonged.

Anen Amen....Jesus, I place all of my trust in you

Prayers for my family we just had to put our beloved pet cat Bubba of 17 years to rest. He was the best and most loving friend.
