It’s something of a cliché now to say that our so-called smart phones, while opening up unprecedented possibilities for virtual connections, have brought about a troubling amount of isolation and disconnection, especially among young people.
Enter the image of the vine and the branches, which presents our lives as Christians in terms of the deepest and most intimate sharing of life. To know that my life is not my own, that I have been claimed by another, even to the point of participating in the very life of the other, is an antidote to the loneliness endemic to our disenchanted culture. I find myself wondering if this helps account for a reawakened interest in religion and spiritual life among our students at Assumption University. I see it in those coming in larger numbers to our weekly Adoration—this hunger to be part of something larger than themselves, this willingness to submit themselves to the Master’s pruning.

Offering my evening prayers to Salina and Cindy.

Offering prayers for Cindy that the Lord will guide her through these difficult times. Also prayers for Salina’s eye surgeries and her successful recovery afterward.

Fr. Dennis it does my heart good to hear that more youth are coming to faith. We so need it in the world these days. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. I could use some prayers for God to guide me in some big life changing decisions right now. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a more heavenly earth.

*** Paul and Barnabas were the ones who preached and converted the Gentiles (anyone who is not Jewish) from the beginning in Acts 15:3b-4, “they told how the Gentiles had turned to God. Then Paul and Barnabas reported everything God had done through them.” *** The Jewish Pharisees who became believers demanded the Gentile believers to follow the Jewish laws of circumcision in Acts 15:5, “Some of the believers were Pharisees. Praise be to God for Fr. Dennis’ sharing. God needs to prune off the “negative” branches on my life. That way I can begin to grow in my own spirituality and understanding of what life is about. This creates new opportunities, understanding and to know appreciate love more with passion and grace. Accepting the things I cannot change and the courage to change the things I can with the wisdom to know the difference. We as a community of faith are connected to the branch that gives life to all.

Amen Amen Amen God bless us all

Amen to the surge!

My BSF sharing day this morning… My name is Salina and my student supervisor is Anna. Here are my ABC: audible, brief and Christ-centered! I really didn’t have much to share as I shared my life with our leaders weekly in prayer and praise channel on Slack, so they already know everything about me except may be how many times I go to the bathroom! Then came the “BUT GOD” moment as Kelly often tells us! I was inspired yesterday at our leadership sharing by what Ava said about “Preparation!” BSF has prepared me to do what God has called...
