Fifth Week of Easter
The Gift of Peace
Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
John 14:27

After encountering the Risen Lord, the disciples still had doubts, fears and experienced hostilities. Jesus knew that his followers would face fear, loss and confusion. So, he prepared his disciples for his departure by leaving them with a deeply personal gift of peace—a peace rooted in trust, presence and love. This peace would anchor them and dwell within them, especially during moments of uncertainty and grief. This is a peace not just given, but it is shared. It is not earned; it is received.

For those times when I am navigating illness, heartbreak or uncertainty, I search for the Easter promise of this gift of peace. I find Christ’s peace in moments when I feel that I am loved. I find Christ’s peace when I choose to trust God.

Loving God, please help us receive your gift of peace so we may have the strength to endure, to love, to lead and to live with courage.

Greetings LFF in the name of love and peace. The peace of Christ is with you and is upon your Spirit always. In times of worry with gas prices soaring, with the price of petroleum products have you brought a pack of gum lately? With the worry of finances, the stress of grocery shopping and job security (for those who are looking for a job), the peace of Christ has to be known and understood in life's journey. I find peace when I am walking outside, I discover the peace that surpasses all understanding comes in a celebration mass when...

Grace and Peace to this LFF. Dear Friends, the peace of Christ is with you and also with your Spirit. During the times that we worry, Christ's peace comes because I trust God's presence is here and known. During times of grief and sorrow, the peace that surpasses all understanding comes to those whose lives I celebrate with the earthly life and heavenly life. Peace (Shalom) is the gift Jesus gives to all of us when we are called to part and then peace comes alive again when we reunite and meet again. Peace of Christ be with you and...

Vivian thank you for those great words to help encourage me/us. The disciples were such good people. I try hard to follow their paths. Worry and fear are hard to combat in life. They are my biggest struggles!!! Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a more heavenly earth.
