One year for Christmas, someone in our family purchased a poster that said, “Those of you who think you know everything are annoying to those of us who do.” Each Christmas after that, the poster would be wrapped under the tree for a different unsuspecting family member, an award for the biggest know-it-all of the year. It was not exactly a coveted prize!
We humans often feel that we know what needs to be known, and we don’t need to be taught any more. Jesus reminds us that being teachable is the essence of faith: having an openness to learning new things, experiencing life through other cultures and ways of thinking, not shutting our eyes, not living under a rigid law. It is willingness to learn and a malleability that gives the Holy Spirit room to breathe in us and through us that makes our lives and our faiths richer.

Amen. :)

God bless us all Amen Amen Amen

Sarah thank you for your reflection of words today. Prayers for guidance! Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a more heavenly earth.

Offering prayers for Frank and his family this morning.

I had a wonderful choir director in college who always said, “The day I die is the day I stop learning.” We all have to learn and grow in our faith everyday and learning new things help us manage our lives to the best of our ability. Share the gifts of love and light to all you meet and greet everyday and see what you can learn. Prayers of thanks for all feeling the joy of God’s love. Prayers for all those who are struggling with concerns for ourselves and others.
