What can you tell a troubled heart? Whenever I have the chance, I like to use this Gospel reading at wakes or funerals. It gives us a chance to hear from Jesus himself, offering the same tender advice he offered his Apostles just hours before he would suffer and die.
Put simply, he told them something we all need to hear at one time or another: Don’t worry. It’s going to be okay. His words promise relief, restoration—and rest. “Have faith in me,” he said. “I’m preparing a place for you” (see vv. 1-2). We won’t be alone for long.
How often we forget these words—or just shrug them off when all our plans get rewritten, revised or scrapped. But in our troubled times, I think our troubled hearts could use this blessed reminder.
No matter the pain or grief, the frustration or setbacks, Jesus has shown us the way. Just follow. As his mother reminded the servants at Cana, “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5). Worried? Lost? Don’t be troubled. Jesus has given us the map.

Thank you Jesus for all you have endured for our sake in Jesus name I pray Amen Amen Amen

As we enter into the Blessed Mother Mary's month of May I offer prayers and blessings to all who will be celebrating birthdays/anniversaries this month. To all in need...Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but, in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
