I’m a fan of Bible study, and some of my favorite studies center on the many names for Jesus found in Scripture: Lamb of God, Lion of Judah, Prince of Peace and many more. Yet, perhaps the most powerful and personal identity of them all are the clues Jesus offers himself about his identity in the Gospel according to John. They are the numerous “I AM” statements that refer to the divine Name revealed to Moses at the burning bush. (See Exodus 3:14; John 8:24, 58; 18:6.)
Today’s instance follows Jesus washing the Apostles’ feet. He demonstrates his foreknowledge of his coming betrayal and that he knows who the betrayer will be. This is not only to warn his followers but to strengthen them: to remind them that he and the Father are One, that all things are known to him and that these predicted events are part of the Father’s plan, coming to fulfillment in him.

In the name of love, in the many names we understand the higher...

Pat thank you for those words. Knowing God is ever present is a comfort. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a more heavenly earth.

Excellent devotion, Pat ❤️ There is nothing better than concluding with God’s attributes/Names/characters resulting from each reading in Bible studies ✝️ Whenever I don’t know what to do and how to pray, I go to His many attributes/Names/characters and all will be well because He is Who He is (I AM) even when my difficult circumstance doesn’t change!!! *** My conclusion from today’s readings: God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign, promise keeping, good, faithful, merciful, the Rock, the Savior, and loving!!! *** If you are in need of prayer today, start by praising Jesus in these attributes above and you...
