The Resurrection of the Lord
Everything Is New
They put him to death by hanging him on a tree. This man God raised on the third day…
Acts 10:39-40

Peter and John’s footrace to Jesus’ tomb, full of incredulous anticipation, signals that nothing can be the same if death has lost its sting. With the resurrection, everything is as new and fresh as the dawn of Creation. We see this in the Easter Vigil: the light piercing the darkness of the night, our exultant song of praise, the Word announcing our redemption and God’s fidelity to his promises, our baptismal vows made new again, the appearance of the Risen Lord in the breaking of the bread. All of these oft-repeated actions live in the eternal present of God’s merciful love.

Benedict XVI liked to say that we are Christians by becoming Christians over and over again. That speaks not so much to our not getting it right as it does to the spring of water that never runs dry, bringing life and freshness to all it touches. On this Easter day, God desires to renew his promises in our very flesh.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

A Big Butterfly on God's Shoulder

This Easter day I heard a voice of God through the Homily. We are called to be Christians by becoming Christians over and over again in our every day and every moment of life. Also, when we should always think of our knots of life, where God is always there and protects us. Indeed, He is always there and helps us.

Read about how these disciples reacted to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! *** Mary Magdalene and the other Mary in Matthew 28:1, 5-8, “The Sabbath day was now over. It was dawn on the first day of the week. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb… The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus, Who was crucified. He is not here! He has risen, just as He said He would! Come and see the place where He was lying. Go quickly! Tell His disciples, ‘He has risen from...

Welcome to the newly Baptized, Confirmed and those receiving their 1st Communion. May we share this Easter Sunday with you. May we be like Peter and John, as Fr. Dennis says, and race to see the Risen Lord. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! You are in our prayers, Ken.
