Monday of Holy Week
Actions Louder Than Words
Not crying out, not shouting,
not making his voice heard in the street.
Isaiah 42:2

Do you post your every thought on social media? It seems our whole political process, our family challenges and a lot of weird, fake “clickbait” are conveyed via this means. So much crying out and shouting too! So many clamoring to have their voices heard, sometimes in retaliatory ways, serving to drag everyone down. Yet, these exchanges quickly become yesterday’s noise.

What is the Lord calling us to instead? He gave us voices and words to speak the truth in love so that we might begin to build his Kingdom, already here on earth. He wants us to establish justice, which implies “right relationships.” Certainly there is a time for wise, kind words, but building involves actions that speak louder than words.

Our efforts to show up and serve others, even in small things: a ride to the doctor’s, a thinking-of-you card, an offer to babysit—these all do more good than an avalanche of angry, divisive words.

May God’s face, light and peace be upon you Jennifer for this devotion today. Social media/Video games really has devastated the way human beings talk to one another there is a need to respect one another. To bring justice and do righteousness. To show mercy, walk humbly and do kindness takes courage to change the way we live today. May all of our lives be touched and guided by the Sprit.

Jennifer thank you for your words of reflection. Social media is such a large part of peoples social interaction. If we could get more positive(God) and less violence on TV we could have a truly more unified loving world. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all and guide us to a heavenly earth! Have a blessed day Ohana

Prophecies about Jesus in the reading of Isaiah… *** Jesus’ purpose was to bring justice into the world in Isaiah 42:1b, “I will put My Spirit on Him. He will bring justice to the nations!” *** Our hope is in Jesus bringing justice into the world in Isaiah 42:4b, “He will not give up until He brings justice to the earth. The islands will put their hope in His teaching.” *** The results of Jesus bringing justice into the world in Isaiah 42:6b-7, “You will put into effect My covenant with the people of Israel. And You will be a light...
