Based on his actions and words, it’s easy to imagine why the people of Jesus’ time thought he was a prophet. They were steeped in the words of the prophets. They knew a prophet when they heard one. They were waiting for one.
But Jesus was no ordinary (or even great) prophet. Jesus was the promise and fulfillment of the prophets! He was the Anointed One, the Messiah who came not just to deliver words of promise and wisdom to the people of his time but to be the Word and Promise for people of all time. Jesus does for us what no other prophet could—he anoints and changes our lives.

Thank you Steve, for a beautiful reflection this morning. My hope is that Our Lord Jesus Christ will open His arms to all people, as He did while He was on this earth. We humans will never know the scope of the Father’s Love for all He created. We are His children and no one is forgotten. Dear Jesus, thank you for You unconditional Love and understanding. I trust in you, Lord Jesus.
