Let’s face it, each of us wants to believe that we are standing on the side of right and good. We all have deep convictions about our faith, our morals, our politics. And often, we gaze in wonder at others, thinking “How can they believe that? Who do they think they are? Don’t they see their wickedness?” We seem to love to divide ourselves into thinking that we are right and others are wrong, finding many ways to judge “the other.”
Now imagine Jesus standing in the gap—you on one side of your belief, the person you most disagree with on the other side, Christ standing in the middle, holding your hands, creating a conduit. Both of you are beloved children of God, bound together in the family of God, a people who know who Jesus is and understand he is asking us to be mended by his mercy, together.

Sara, what a beautiful image you have painted for us, may it be so.

Did not expect to read the Gospel of inclusion this morning…concerning.

Sarah your words fill my head with hopes of a positive future in this world and everyones lives. For all humans to be the best God fearing version of themselves that they can be. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. May the Holy Spirit fill the hearts of all to guide us to a heavenly earth.

Jesus, guide me on my path. Amen!

Lead me to love Lord you are my Lord who takes away the sins of the world thank you for all you do for me and my family Amen Amen Amen

Thank you Sarah. I pray that our country finds a way to bridge our divides.

AMEN!

Amen. :)

Yes, Jesus is in the gap, but how? It sounds so loving, so right and so much nicer if we all get along with Jesus in the middle holding hands because “we are all children of God!” How true is it? Yes Sarah! It seems though that these days it takes a lot of bricks to bridge the gap. We must remember that Jesus is the Cornerstone.

Jesus fills the gaps of my heart when I doubt. When I am not sure of myself, when I am living in sin. Jesus fills the gap with understanding and includes all Children of God in love, grace, forgiveness and brings peace. Even though there are difficult sayings and practices in the Bible, love never fails. Jesus comes in between people who have misunderstandings, is present in discussing those things we can agree to disagree and still say, "God loves you and so do I."
