Lenten Weekday
A Divided Kingdom
Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste…
Luke 11:17

Regardless of the application of this verse, the message is clear. Power is in unity, oneness and clarity. Countries fall, families fracture, relationships destruct and dreams dissolve when an entity is divided against itself.

This begins within.

When we are double-minded, we falter. We cannot live in faith and fear. We cannot have harmony and peace of mind and meanwhile nurse our resentments and regrets. We cannot have abundance while our mind lingers in lack. We cannot be victorious and live as a victim. We cannot be free without forgiveness. We cannot live in gratitude in the present moment and be tethered to past pain and disappointments.

To live wholeheartedly, purposefully and powerfully, we must examine ourselves and notice where our internal kingdom is divided. We can’t have it both ways.

Choose.

Amen to that. I need to read this regularly to keep focus on what really matters and stop sweating the small stuff.

Good morning LFF this lesson is difficult for me with the choices I make. "Am I meeting my own needs? Or am I meeting the needs of others so I can be glorified?" There are pains and disappointments that come up within me especially the sins of the past and present. I choose to follow the will of God, to hold myself in love, understanding and a commitment to know that I am forgiven. To live that way is challenging and fulfilling all that the same time. The Christian Human journey is hard to live on this earth because of...

Another beautiful and thoughtful reflection today, Kristin. Thank you for reminding us of the choices we will make each and every day. Thankful for Our Loving and compassionate Lord who welcomes us each morning and gives us the Love that we need to make these daily choices. Blessings to the LFF and those they love.

Thank you Kirsten for this most beautiful and wise meditation. May I always listen to his words and harden not my heart. And most of all, may I always act on his words. Amen

How does my internal kingdom is divided get started? *** It starts with my divided heart in Joel 2:12-13, “Even now,” declares the Lord,“ return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity!” *** It starts with my hardened heart in Psalm 95:7b-8a, “Today, if only you would hear His voice, “Do not harden your hearts!” *** It starts with my sinful heart in...
