I had a friend who lived a long and good life. He liked his work and thought he had done some good in the world. But as he approached the end of his life, he couldn’t help but wonder: Had he worked hard enough on aligning his sense of purpose with God’s purpose for his life?
Living with meaning and purpose is important, of course. We want to know that how we spend our lives is somehow making a difference in the world. But we are also called to ask: Have I invited God into my carefully designed plans? The way of Christ beckons us to combine his purpose and plan for the world with our own dreams and desires, and it’s never too late to begin. Today, lay your life’s purpose and plans before God, and let God take control. Then watch and see how your life changes.

To the Living Faith Ohana/Family: "Called According to God's Purpose and Finding Meaning in Life's journey." Thanks be to the Spirit that is with us through the challenges, trials, temptations that families go through on this earth (individually as well) Ever woke up saying, "What is my purpose today?" If you ever have done that just say to yourself, "My purpose is to make a difference for someone either a loved one or a stranger." I personally say, "I am here to make a difference for someone who is having a difficult time/day and the purpose is to bring a...

Great reflection, Steve. I often think if I'm living my plan according to God's will. And, I also wonder sometimes what my plan really is. I continue praying for the Holy Spirit to guide me. Continued prayers and blessing for all LF family and peace around the world.

Thank you Steve for this reflection. I have been without internet or with very weak reception for many months. I have missed so many responses of other members ( I receive the booklet from Living Faith so I can read reflections). I even had to create another account in order to log in. Hopefully this will not happen again. "The faith of those who live their faith is a serene faith." St. Pope Leo the Great

Good morning dear friends. I’d like to thank each of you today, October 29, for your prayers and encouragement this past year. Today it has been one year since Garrett’s work injury and, as many of us have mentioned recently, prayer has truly brought salvation to him and to my family in so many ways. Without a world of people near and far praying for his healing in mind, body and spirit, and for us all coping in dealing with the issues I’m not sure where we would be physically, emotionally and spiritually. Friends and family have seen a very...

Ah Steve your words bring to mind my poor father who to the day of his death worried that he was not worthy of God's love for fear of all he had to do in WWII. I know God has him by his side now and he doesn't have to worry anymore. God forgives and loves. Each day I pray that I can fulfill Gods plan. Scott your new word will stick with me forever.......to my 'Ohana" you guys are amazing and an inspiration to me everyday. May god bless all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days,...

Is it the right question to ask, “Have I invited God into my carefully designed plans?” *** The cart before the horse? (Have I invited God into my carefully designed plans?) Or the horse before the cart? (Do I know God personally that He has made His plan known to me in His Word?) *** I have learned my lesson as Abraham did in helping God out on his own dreams and desires that God promised to provide for him. Abraham just couldn’t wait. He wanted God to bless his and Sara’s plan to have a child, so Ishmael was...
