A friend is going through a terrible, world-shifting time. Life today looks completely different than it did even six months ago. She’s done what she could, but she really can’t do any more. It’s hard and sad. We do what we can to accompany those in difficult places. But it’s a challenge to offer words that don’t end up sounding like empty platitudes, isn’t it? Or even, if we’re going through our own hard times, reading words like the psalmist’s and believing them.
Perhaps one answer, then, is not simply to speak or read these words but to actually try to pray them. In that space in deep communion with the Lord, even in darkness, we can see glimmers of light.

Amen Amy, perfectly said. When life is shrouded in darkness just a glimmer can be the lighthouse we need for ourselves or we can be the glimmer for another. ——— In one of my darkest periods I came across Isaiah 42:3 “He will not break a bruised reed, nor will he snuff out a smoldering wick; faithfully he will establish justice.” ——— Did I read it or hear it, I can’t remember, but it was a glimmer of light that stuck with me ever since. ——— Whether to pray or speak can be a difficult choice. I believe prayer first.

AMy ah a heavy sigh of relief with your words. They help to relax and focus more on the day with a clear mind. Thank you Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. May the Holy Trinity fill the hearts of all to guide us to a heavenly earth. Extra prayers for Melissa Engle going through a bone marrow transplant now for cancer.

Amen. :)

Offering prayers for you and your parents Scott. May God’s glimmers of light surround all of you now as you navigate this challenging time. Remember to take moments for yourself too as caregivers also need nourishment and strength.

My hope goes to those who suffer. Amen!

Amen Amen Amen please God bless all of us today and every day in Jesus name we pray

Amen.

We pray and do what we can and leave the rest to God.

The Psalms are prayers of the psalmists ✝️ *** I have learned to pray God’s Word each and every time…that’s how I am changed…not to ask God to give me what I want but to align my thinking into wanting what God wants by praying His Words ✝️ *** 1 John 5:14-15, “Here is what we can be sure of when we come to God in prayer. If we ask anything in keeping with what He wants, He hears us. If we know that God hears what we ask for, we know that we have it!” *** Isaiah 55:11, “The...

Thank you, Amy for that bit of encouragement. It is good to know that although we may not be able to change the world, we can at least pray for it.
