Society tends to measure value with dollar signs. Our “heroes” are CEOs, sports figures and entertainers who make extraordinary amounts of money. Wealth is too often our measure of social status and importance. As a result, it is easy to be dissatisfied when it seems like so many people have all the security and power that comes with wealth while we may struggle to provide for our families. It is easy to believe money is the key to happiness.
Such envy and dissatisfaction are nothing new. Great disparities of wealth were known in the first century too. Paul’s letter to Timothy is a blunt warning that Christians should not be seduced by love of money. “For we brought nothing into the world, just as we shall not be able to take anything out of it. If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with that” (1 Timothy 6:7-8).

Greg thank for those words I wish all would hear and listen to them. The love of money spreads evil into a community and world. I live in a what used to be a small agricultural community. Because of our great location people decided they like this place and are coming and building million dollar mansions then complaining that there is a family next to them that lives in a trailer, with tractors and animals. It was there when they built their house. Really? It's all a show and greed. They are shoving out all that this place was about....

Don't be too concerned about the "treasures" of the world, money power, status, etc. Place your trust in God and He will bless you more than you can ever imagine.
