The Light Within
…Moses struck the rock twice with his staff…
Numbers 20:11

The only rocks that have ever caught my attention were the ones I stepped on or tripped over. Rocks are just rocks, right? That’s what I thought until I learned about geodes. These special rock formations are not rare, but a keen eye is needed to find them. Once a geode is split open, a sparkling crystalline formation is revealed inside.

I can’t help but wonder if we aren’t all like those geodes. We’re not rocks, that’s for sure. God gifts each one of us with a luminous soul. It’s easy to overlook that truth when our own impressions cloud our sight. Elsewhere Scripture tells us that “…God does not see as a mortal, who sees the appearance. The Lordlooks into the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). There’s a light inside every person who’s ever crossed paths with us—those we know and those we’ve never noticed.

Keeping that in mind, whose inner light will you affirm today?

Walk in the light and never be afraid to let the light of truth be beamed fully on you and from you onto others. Keep the light circulating. You need to be a bit cracked to do it. ——— John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people again. He said, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness. They will have that light. They will have life.” ——— Matthew 5: 14-16  “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill can’t be hidden. Also, people do not light a...

The Israelites complained twice about water duriing their 40 year journey in the desert! What did these two incidences tell me about the Israelites, Moses and God? *** The first time at the beginning of their journey in Exodus 17:1-7, "The whole community of Israel started out from the Desert of Sin. They traveled from place to place, just as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim. But there wasn’t any water for the people to drink. So they argued with Moses. They said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses replied, “Why are you arguing with me? Why are you...

The Rock is the Light of Salvation who will I fear? In what situations am I afraid to be in? Where is the solid rock of faith when I am doubting or questioning my actions? The rock is the light of Salvation and that gives me strength to know Emmanuel is with me in every breath I take. The LFF is helping me strengthen my faith so that I can forgive myself, others and bring meaning to life when life seems meaningless and there seems to be no purpose. God continue to bless Gail and all the contributors to the...

Ah Gail yes great words. Sometimes I wish we could just break through that outer hard shell of the rock for all people in this world to reveal their inner beauty. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days and may the Holy Trinity reveal the good inner soul of the world leaders and guide them to lead under God. For a heavenly earth.
