We sometimes throw around the word “passion” when referring to our work, our coffee or our favorite team. But true passion refers to something that is closest to the heart.
As Jesus ate for the last time with his disciples, as he agonized in Gethsemane, as he suffered the mockery and blows of the soldiers, with each painful step on the way to Calvary…what was his passion? What—or who—was closest to his heart?
The answer is you. You are his passion. It was your face held close to his heart in these moments that would redeem you. Jesus is, even now, inviting you to participate in that walk, to bring your own heart close to his. He emptied himself to break the chains of sin and heal your hurts. He is assuring you that the way will not be too difficult as you journey by his side. And the Lord is asking you to share his passion—for those others who have yet to hear or believe the hope and joy that come with Easter.
It’s so hard to fathom God’s love for us. We don’t deserve this kind of love but he loves us anyway. God is always there for us, no matter the trials and tribulations. It is so reassuring!
My prayer "Lord Jesus, be the King and Ruler of my heart, mind, life, and home. May my life reflect your meekness and humility that you may be honored as the King of glory!"
Steve, such a beautiful reflection you have given us. May we all feel the Lords' presence today.
Thank you, Steve. Wishing all of the LFF and beautiful Palm Sunday and praying for the suffering, lonely and homeless people of this world. May they feel the passion that Our Lord has for them.
Amen. :)
A Blessed Palm Sunday to the LFF
Amen. I am at your side. Forgive me!
Amen!
*** The word passion is from the Latin pati, which simply means “to endure” or “to suffer.” Yes, as Steve said “Jesus’ passion is for you” to receive His mercy and grace that He endured and suffered on His way to the cross and on the cross! It is your choice to receive it or not! *** Jesus was born to fulfill God’s good plan and good purpose in prophecies in the Scriptures! Luke 24:44, “Jesus said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms must come true.” *** How do I know what they are? Like 24:45, “Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures!” ******* Only with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit that I can understand the prophecies in Scripture! 2 Peter 1:20-21, “Above all, here is what you must understand. No prophecy in Scripture ever came from a prophet’s own understanding of things. Prophecy never came simply because a prophet wanted it to. Instead, the Holy Spirit guided the prophets as they spoke. So, although prophets are human, prophecy comes from God!” Pray first and ask the Holy Sprit to explain and guide before reading and meditating on Scripture ✝️
A 40-day prayer journal specifically for my daughter, Katie, the self proclaim agnostic to come back and walk with Jesus, her Savior and soon to be Lord ✝️ *** Day Thirty five - Everything You did, do and will do is to fulfill Your plan and Your purpose of long ago! And they are good! *** It is Your good plan and purpose to bring Katie back to Yourself ✝️ Psalm 71:19-20, “God, Your saving acts reach to the skies. You have done great things. God, Who is like you? You have sent many bitter troubles my way. But you will give me new life. Even if I’m almost in the grave, You will bring me back!” *** Nothing can separate Katie from Your love ✝️ Romans 8:38-39, “I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can separate us. Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can separate us. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love. That’s because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done!” And I say Amen ❤️
Create a clean heart in me Lord. Renew a strong and steadfast Spirit within me! (Psalm 51:10). Yes, thanks, Steve, for this message!
