We are two weeks from Good Friday, the day Jesus is “put to the test.” The verse from Wisdom today not only pertains to Jesus but to all those who follow him. Wisdom warns that others may find our righteous living “obnoxious” (v. 12), annoying and even threatening. We may be unpopular, subject to harsh words or threatened physically because we hold fast to God’s law.
The temptation is to respond by fighting back with words or walking away in disgust when no one is listening. Maybe we’re tempted by self-righteous thinking—“We are better than you.” The greater challenge is not merely to endure the pain and deep humiliation but to respond, as Jesus does, with patient love in the face of angry words, betrayal and agony. In these last days of Lent, let us pray through the intercession of St. Isidore, that we work to end division and heal God’s broken people.
A 40-day prayer journal specifically for my daughter, Katie, the self proclaim agnostic to come back and walk with Jesus, her Savior and soon to be Lord ✝️ *** Day Twenty six - I come boldly before You, Abba Father! I ask for Your mercy and grace upon Your child, Katie, to bring her back from the world into your Kingdom! Hebrews 4:16, "So let us boldly approach God’s throne of grace. Then we will receive mercy. We will find grace to help us when we need it!" *** Romans 8:14-16, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children!" Amen! ✝️ *** Abba Father! You have made Katie and I Your child through Your Spirit. In Your kindness You adopted us and deliver us from sin and death! Remind Katie and I today what it means to be Your child and to be free from that law! It is so easy for us to live our day on our own terms. Help us to live in light of Your grace! In Jesus' Name, Amen ✝️
It is not a coincidence that I am studying 2 Timothy 2 this week at Community Bible Study :-) *** It’s useless to argue with opposition but focus on God’s work and His Word from Paul’s admonition to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:14-15, “Keep reminding God’s people of these things. While God is watching, warn them not to argue about words. That doesn’t have any value. It only destroys those who listen. Do your best to please God. Be a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed. Teach the message of truth correctly!” Amen, I hear you, Paul! *** We need to eat food to survive everyday. The same way, we need God’s Word daily to survive everyday. Matthew 4:4, “Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man must not live only on bread. He must also live on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Deuteronomy 8:3)” *** Whatever I am going through, God hears me and is with me ✝️ Psalm 34:17-19, “Godly people cry out, and the Lord hears them. He saves them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to those whose hearts have been broken. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed. The person who does what is right may have many troubles. But the Lord saves him (me) from all of them!” Amen! ******* Praise You, Lord Jesus Christ ❤️✝️❤️
"Pray to soften hardened hearts, to open darkened minds." St. Charles Makhouf
Deborah thank you for those words. I giggle as I recall the phrase "God give me patience and give it to me right now." LOL I struggle each day with having the patience to trust in him with all the maliciousness in this world today. I will try very hard to be more patient and trust in his ways. Blessings to all the LFF. Extra prayers to those with extra needs these days. Continued prayers for all our world leaders to be filled with the Holy Spirit to lead our world under God. I guess I have big dreams but I'm not going to stop dreaming!
AMEN!

Thank you, Deborah, for your words of wisdom. Despite hard work and kindness, I have been met with criticism, negativity, and harshness. I am struggling to know what to do about it because I do believe the individual is hurting inside. Your words, "patient love" and "heal God's broken people" offered kind advice and comfort. Thanks again - may your day be blessed!
