A quick scan of the headlines of any newspaper reminds us that depravity is still with us. To see how men treat women, or race treats race, or nation treats nation, is to understand God’s wrath as recorded in this chapter of Exodus.
The drama of this conversation between the Lord and Moses is that Moses tells God why he should not “exterminate [the Hebrews] from the face of the earth” for building a golden calf (v. 12). Such an action, Moses tells him, would bring discredit on the Lord himself. These are his people with whom he has made a covenant.
Moses intercedes and God hears him. “So the Lord relented in the punishment he had threatened to inflict on his people” (v. 14).
The lesson of Moses’ appeal is that ours is a God who listens. Ours is a God of mercy, even when we have failed or strayed.
I thank God that the storms & tornado warnings stayed west & north of where I am. A windy day & rainy night was easier to take. Trusting God: "I knew God would take care of all and make everything right in the end." St. Mary MacKillop
Greg thank you for those words. I comforts me to know that through all my faults God still loves me and believe me I have plenty of faults :{ Blessings to all the LFF. Extra prayers for those going through hard times right now, may God hold them in his hands and guide them through these times. May the Holy Spirit enter the hearts, minds, and souls of all the world leaders and guide them to lead this world under God! May we all go out and spread the love of God through all the world.
How often do I do something as the Israelites did in the desert? Make something I want and like to represent God so I can physically worship and connect with? *** Listen to their reasoning in Exodus 32:1, "The people saw that Moses took a long time to come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him, “Come. Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.” *** Did you hear what they were saying? We thought Moses representing God has left us, we need someone or something to replace Moses so we can connect with God!!! And Aaron (Moses' brother), the leader of the Israelites didn't help to correct them but to go along with their idea :-( *** Here was Aaron's excuses in Exodus 32:22-24, "Please don’t be angry,” Aaron answered. “You know how these people like to do what is evil. They said to me, ‘Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.’ So I told them, ‘Anyone who has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ They gave me the gold. I threw it into the fire. And out came this calf!” ******* Aaron was saying that these people were very pushy and evil. There was nothing he could have done...he threw the gold into the fire and out came this calf!?!?!? *** Don't be angry! *** I didn't plan this! *** It just happens!
AMEN!
A 40-day prayer journal specifically for my daughter, Katie, the self proclaim agnostic to come back and walk with Jesus, her Savior and soon to be Lord ✝️ *** Day Twenty five - How sad it is to see Katie living for the world ignoring You :-( Come to think of it, her referendum has more about me than You...it probably is due to my poor witnessing as a mother and as a Christ (rule-based and not a personal relationship) follower earlier in my faith walk :-( But You are the God of many second chances! You are patient and long-suffering! Be merciful to us, Lord Jesus! Bring her back into Your arms and she will be Your witness everywhere she goes ✝️ *** I praise You, Lord God! Psalm 30:11-12, "You turned my loud crying into dancing. You removed my clothes of sadness and dressed me with joy. So my heart will sing Your praises. I can’t keep silent. Lord, my God, I will praise You forever!" *** I rejoice in You, Lord God, for both Katie and I in Isaiah 61:10, "I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of Salvation and arrayed me in a robe of His righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels!" Amen! ✝️
Amen.

Sharing my joy with you of my BSF student class yesterday ❤️ *** We did an abbreviated Homiletics on Revelation 20:1-10 in the Upper Elementary (ages 7-11)…I too pray that the students will follow the Homiletics process to learn the truths and apply them to their minds and hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit when they study the Scripture ✝️ Sharing with you their answers… *** Truths (Biblical truths of the passage - what do you learn about God, yourself and others?) * God is powerful, and the devil is powerless. If you believe you have resurrection * The second death does nothing against Christians * God is in control all the time * God will protect me and keep me safe * He keeps people safe because He’s in control even when Satan is released *** Applications (statements and questions motivating change in heart and mind) * Listen and obey. It will help you learn * Pray not to be tricked * Satan will be locked up for a thousand years. God makes us feel safe * When you believe in Jesus you will rule with Christ for 1,000 years * Follow Jesus because He is powerful and righteous * Don’t follow the bad people in your life because you will become affected * I will always trust God * God will keep me safe because He’s powerful * I can rely on God
