Lenten Weekday
The Most Important Voice
Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people.
Jeremiah 7:23

We know the sound of God’s voice, or, at least, we hope we do. Whether in church, on retreat, at home or in the car, all we have to do is listen. The voice that counts the most, the one that will never fail us, is the voice of God speaking quietly in our hearts. Most of us try our hardest to listen when we are troubled or maybe grateful for a blessed experience. That is, we’re paying attention, and our spiritual ears are open. But, like the Israelites, we are not always attentive to God’s voice, choosing instead to listen to gossip or false accusations, stubbornly seeking news from people who tell us what we want to believe.

Lent offers room for us to close our ears to the cacophony of voices we hear in the 21st century. Jeremiah reminds us that it’s never too late for God’s people to return and listen.

Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those in need. Come to the side of those experiencing violence in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, and the Sudan. Please hear the pleas of all those suffering around the world - and give them strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.

*** Yes, You are my God and I am Your people ✝️ Your Word, Lord, is how I hear from You! Your Spirit, Lord, is how I hear from You! Your people, Lord, is how I hear from You! *** Revelation 20:1-10 Questions I ask: What does this passage say about God? What does this passage say about me? What does this passage say about others? *** Q12b What does it teach you about God? My response, “God doesn’t change…His plan and purpose will be fulfilled! He is patient and powerful! He wins and His Kingdom will have no end! Q12c What does it say about your place in eternity, and how does the assurance of victory help you not be complacent? My response, “I will be with Him forever…not if but when!!! Therefore, it is all about ‘by His Grace and for His Glory!’ Here I am, send me!” Q14 What truths from Revelation 20 stand out to you? My response, “Satan doesn’t change, God doesn’t change and sinful human doesn’t change :-( When satan is released after 1,000 year reign under Christ, satan will cause the nations (human) to believe lies!

******* Starting a 40-day prayer journal specifically for my daughter, Katie, the self proclaim agnostic to come back and walk with Jesus, her Savior and soon to be Lord ✝️ *** Day Eighteen - Praying for the Holy Spirit to prepare and soften Katie’s heart to hear Your voice in Psalm 95:6-8, “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for He is our God. We are the people He watches over, the flock under His care. If only you would listen to His voice today! The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness!” Amen ✝️ *** No one can snatch Katie out of Your hands, Lord Jesus! John 10:27-29, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from Me, for My Father has given them to me, and He is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand!” Amen ✝️ *** Not Today (Let the devil know not today) by Hillsong UNITED https://youtu.be/bQF0xz0FEIs

Deborah you are so right, it's never too late to listen to God and in these times it's more important than ever. Blessings to all the LFF, you are all an inspiration. Extra prayers for those with extra needs these days and may we all spread the love of God through all the world. Prayers for all our world leaders to be filled with the Holy Spirit and guided to lead our countries under God.

It is good to be tempted by the devil ✝️ Here is why? *** If you already belong to the devil, he won’t need to tempt or attack you! *** If you don’t belong to God, the devil has a chance to sway you and lead you astray! *** Every August, leaders of BSF will be under severe attacks (health, family members, finance, jobs, relationships, you name it) as we prepare to lead others (ages 0-100 men, women, children and students all over the world) to study God’s Word (to learn to hear His voice) from September - May!

Expecting troubles is my posture! *** If I have no troubles, I have to ask myself, “Am I doing the things of God or am I doing the things of the world?” *** Troubles keeps me on my knees and eyes in Jesus! *** Put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-18) when I get up naked every morning…open my he Bible and hear the voice of God! ******* The Word of God is the only offensive weapon to fight the battle in Ephesians 6:17b, “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God!”

Dearhearts…Thank you for your prayers and always comforting words. Vijay is home, always the best medicine! There is abnormal brain activity and an MRI will be scheduled. The Neurologist said he believes it is Junior Epilepsy. He’s on seizure medicine and of course, telling a 17 year he can’t drive is a completely different issue! Continued prayers truly appreciated!❣️

“we are not always attentive to God’s voice, choosing instead to listen to gossip or false accusations” Today's commentary speaks to what I experienced yesterday. I was under attack from false accusations and totally devastated. I went to mass and prayed for peace and wisdom to know how to deal with it. Words of retaliation kept running through my head but something else told me not to. I got the message that it had something to do with Lent, with temptation, and I was called to stand firm in my faith and trust in God to see me through. Today’s word that the devil is the accuser, confirms for me that I did hear God’s voice and by his Grace, I made the right choice. Thank you Living Faith and Deborah for listening to God’s word and sharing it today.

Anne L., it sounds like you were under a spiritual attack from the devil. He’s always prowling around the earth, looking to wreak havoc and cause division among the believers. Good for you that you didn’t fall for it, only prayer can drive out those demons. Praying for all of your needs today, LFF. We cannot turn our backs on God and his desire for us to love him and not follow our own fancies or whims. Have a blessed day everyone!
