Feeling Overlooked?
God is not unjust so as to overlook your work…
Hebrews S 6:10

I’m a firm believer that God gives us points for effort! And sometimes we make big efforts that seem to go unnoticed, or someone else walks away with the credit after all of our hard work.

We want life to be fair (it’s not); we want our just rewards (probably not until heaven), and gee whiz, don’t people realize all the blood, sweat and tears I put into this? It’s easy to whine about a lack of recognition for our efforts. Maybe the Hebrews had been whining about it previously, and that prompted this section of the letter.

The Hebrews can be rest assured that God knows exactly what’s going on. They are urged to be eager, also patient, and to “hold fast to the hope that lies before us” (v. 18).

I am going to do the best I can with what I’ve got today and take solace in knowing God rejoices in my efforts!

Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those who have been hurt, killed and impacted by terrorist attacks. Come to the side of those experiencing violence in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, and the Sudan. Please hear the pleas of all those suffering around the world - and give them strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen

I have learned ministry is *** Giving when you feel like keeping! *** Praying for others when you need to be prayed for! *** Feeding others when your own soul is hungry! *** Living truth before peope even when you can't see results! *** Hurting with other people when your own hurt can't be spoken! *** Keeping your word even when it is not convenient! *** Being faithful when your flesh wants to run away!

God did not put me on earth so that I might shine, but so that He can shine through me.

"Lord Jesus, may I give you fitting honor in the way I live my life and in the way I treat my neighbor. May I honor the Lord's Day as a day holy to you. And may I always treat others with the same mercy and kindness which you have shown to me. Free me from a critical and intolerant spirit that I may always seek the good of my neighbor."
