34th Week in Ordinary Time
The End Will Be a Beginning
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Luke 21:33

The end is near. We are in the deep end of Ordinary Time—past the year’s crowning feast of Christ the King. Today’s Liturgy of the Word confirms it with selections from the book of Revelation, the cry of the psalmist’s soul pining for the Lord’s courts and the Gospel’s apocalyptic words of Jesus. This is exactly where the Church wants our attention at the end of the Church year…on the end things. For soon in Advent we will be reminded not only of the first coming of our newborn Savior and King—as beautiful and breathtaking as that is—but that Jesus is coming again.

The culmination of all things is in the hands of King Jesus. May we all trust in his unbreakable, unchanging, unfailing and undying words.

Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of Living God, may I await your coming with full trust in your holy words, as the many faithful before me.

Yes, Pat. Every time I hear that warning; I think of the cartoon of the poor old prophet with the 'end is near' sign walking towards the corner of the building. While coming down the other side of the building a run-away car is careening. Sure, it may be the end for him but not so for us. This is our Prepare time. Get ready, be prepared. For Jesus, our beginning and end is near. Blessed holiday season to all, Amen.

Jane I am praying for you and your mum right now and want to relate a story for you and the living faith family. NODA 5 Years back I was a volunteer at the VA in the NODA program it's an acronym for No One Dies Alone Hospice at the hospital for people with no families near. I woul come late night or early morning. 1am . Most volunteers were women that didn't want to be out late. Sitting with patient we would talk with them ask if they needed anything or woul like to pray or listen to me pray. Unfortunately most times the patient were un responsive. After Sitting with on patient for about 3 hours I was getting sleepy. Told him I was leaving maybe see him tomorrow. He shook his head opened his eyes and said " hey Ken thanks for being with me" then back to sleep. Point I trying to make is that they are aware even if they don't outwardly show it. Ken

Pat thank you for your words of encouragement. Trust is a daily struggle for me but I won't give up trying. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and a good start to the holiday season. Blessings to all the LFF, especially those with extra needs these days. May we all have trust to spread Gods love through all the world.

Thank you Pat! I’m looking forward to Advent as it is one of my favorite times of the year. The lighting of the wreath, Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel (another favorite!) and the slow burn of days leading to the birth of the light of the world. May we all wait in anticipation for the day. Continued prayers for Garrett, Terry, Stephanie, Peggy, and Jane and her mum. Amen.

The Revelation passage may not be easily understood but what little I do know from reading and understanding (by the power of the Holy Spirit) God’s Word all these years points me to…If I am born once (naturally), I will die twice (naturally and spiritually)!!! If I am born twice (naturally and born again spiritually), I will die only once (naturally)!!! So the key question for me would be, “Am I born again spiritually?” *** Revelation 20:4-6, “I saw thrones. Those who had been given authority to judge were sitting on them. I also saw the souls of those whose heads had been cut off. They had been killed because they had spoken what was true about Jesus. They had also been killed because of the Word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its statue. They had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands. They came to life and ruled with Christ for 1,000 years. This is the first resurrection. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1,000 years were ended. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ. They will rule with Him (Jesus) for 1,000 years!” *** My questions…1. Do I speak the truth about Jesus? 2. Do I know and speak the Word of God? 3. Do I worship the beast and its statue? Anyone else but Jesus? *** If I am born again spiritually, I will be able (by the power of the Holy Spirit) to speak the truth about Jesus and His Word, I won’t be worshiping anyone but only Jesus!!! I will share in the first resurrection ruling with Christ for 1,000 years when Jesus returns!!! The second death will have no power over me! *** If I am not born again spiritually, I won’t be able (without the power of the Holy Spirit) to speak the truth about Jesus or His Word and I probably am worshipping others or in addition to Jesus!!! I will not share in the first resurrection! I will have to face the second death (spiritually)! ******* What is Jesus talking about? In Luke 21:33, “Heaven and earth will pass away. But My Words will never pass away!” What am I accumulating? Heaven? Earth? Good works? Prayers? All these are good, but they will all pass away except God’s Word!!! How are you accumulating God’s Word? More importantly, do you know if you are born again? What does God’s Word say about ‘born again?’ The beginning begins with ‘born again!’

Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those experiencing natural disasters, as well as those in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, the Sudan, in addition to all those suffering around the world - also for their strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen
