Our lives are full of a lot. We’re hungry, tired and busy. We’re tempted to prioritize pleasure over mercy and justice. So much of the world teaches us to protect ourselves, to proclaim boundaries.
Jesus, though, turns this worldview upside down. Jesus encourages us to let go. In him, we learn that the meaning of life is love. And love is made up of relationship, unity and outpouring of the self for the well-being of the other. Christ teaches us to give our lives away. We see this on the Cross. We see this in how he walks with others, heals, shares food, teaches, encourages and provides. We are part of this story, and we are his people.
Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly - (make your request here) - and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen
"Cling to God & leave all the rest to Him. He will not let you perish. Your soul is very dear to Him. He wishes to save it." St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Prayers for Jane & her Mum, Vincent, & all LFF members who have special needs this day.
Claire your words encourage my faith to be stronger thank you. It feels as though our world these days is regressing in faith. I pray each day for God's love to be seen and followed by all. Blessings to all the LFF. You are amazing people and a blessing. I missed not being able to read each day recently. Prayers to all especially those with extra needs these days and may we all spread the love of God to all the world. Below are a couple of prayers I read everyday that in those lonely and struggling times give me some peace. Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains leave their place and the hills be shaken, my love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken, says the Lord, who has mercy on you. FOR A HOLY HEART Lord grant me a holy heart that is always fine and pure and not frightened at the sight of sin but creates order wherever it goes. Grant me a heart that knows nothing of boredom, weeping and sighing. Let me not be too concerned with the bothersome thing I call “myself.” Lord give me a sense of humor and I will find happiness in life and profit for others. Blessings to all!
Thank you Sr. Julia. May we all understand and live out more ways to be part of Christ’s story today. Lifting Vincent, Laura, Garrett and Jane and her mum during this period. Amen.
Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those experiencing natural disasters, as well as those in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, the Sudan, in addition to all those suffering around the world - also for their strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen
Here is how Paul considered his life in Philippians 3:8, “Even more, I (Paul) consider everything to be nothing compared to knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. To know Him is worth much more than anything else. Because of Him I have lost everything. But I consider all of it to be garbage so I can know Christ better!” *** Philippians 1:21, “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better!” *** So for Paul, he lost everything to follow Jesus and he would rather be dead than not knowing Jesus ✝️
AMEN!
Praying for Jane and Jane’s Mum and Vincent this morning. May the Lord’s love, strength and peace shine on each of you and carry you all through this difficult time. LFF, may God’s blessings be with all of us today. Amen.
"Lord Jesus Christ, I place all my hope in you because you have redeemed the world by your death on the cross and by your victory over the grave. Help me to never lose sight of the goal of heaven that I may live each day in joyful anticipation of your return in glory." Amen
Lord, help me to imitate you today, to think less of my own needs and more of the needs of others.
"The meaning of life is love." Amen!
Morning prayer time—-Vincent and Jane/Jane’s mum, along with all my regular petitions for each of you. Seems the enemy is particularly seeking to hurt those of us who are being every day missionaries in our everyday lives. Truly a sign we are doing right and succeeding but it hurts our hearts none the same. As I go about my day today I will pray for our strength through Jesus and peace in our souls through the Holy Spirit. Our union in Spirit will not be defeated. May God the Father bless each of you today, as I say your name, with guidance and courage, fortitude and bodily strength. He is with us and between us my friends. Peace.
Including you and your Mum in my rosary, Jane.
