When someone takes an entrance exam for college, or apprentices for a trade, or interviews for a job, they might feel nervous about the qualifications: “Do I have what it takes? What if I get in and then they find out I’m not properly equipped?” We all know we have to reach a certain standard in order to go further.
St. Paul reminds us that the only qualification required by God is to want to be with him. Seemingly simple, this is the highest qualification there is. Through it come the highest rewards: unity and peace, the rewards we all long for but often struggle to accept. None of us is substandard. Each of us is invited to come higher, not in wealth or power or position but in humility and love. We are not competing for this prize but helping each other get there.
AMEN!
Amen!
Thank you Mary. Oh yes, I get so far ahead in my mental gymnastics about what I should be or need to be and forget that God’s requirement is for me to desire to be with him. That desire and awareness of it, amplifies my commitment and enables my “coachability” grow. Please continue to flame that desire in me. P.s. I am spending a long weekend in Maine with a friend this weekend. We arrived yesterday. It is beautiful fall colors and spectacular weather. Looking at the sunrise on the ocean now and in awe of God’s goodness. Amen.
Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those experiencing natural disasters, as well as those in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, the Sudan, in addition to all those suffering around the world - also for their strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.
*** Paul called himself "a prisoner for serving the Lord" in Ephesians 4:1a, "Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord," *** A prisoner for serving the Lord looks like this in Ephesians 4:1b-3, "(1)lead a life worthy of your calling, for (2)you have been called by God. Always (3)be humble and gentle. (4)Be patient with each other, (5)making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. (6)Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, (7)binding yourselves together with peace." *** Why? in Ephesians 4:4-6, "For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, Who is over all, in all, and living through all." ******* How? The Good News, a gift through Christ Jesus in Ephesians 4:7, "However, He has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ." *** Learn to understanding what is happening right now...in Luke 12:54-56, "Jesus spoke to the crowd. He said, “You see a cloud rising in the west. Right away you say, ‘It’s going to rain.’ And it does. The south wind blows. So you say, ‘It’s going to be hot.’ And it is. You pretenders! You know how to understand the appearance of the earth and the sky. Why can’t you understand the meaning of what is happening right now?" *** 1 John 5:18-20, "We know that those who are children of God do not keep on sinning. The Son of God keeps them safe. The evil one can’t harm them. We know that we are children of God. We know that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We also know that the Son of God has come. He has given us understanding. So we can know the God who is true. And we belong to the true God by belonging to His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." *** Ephesians 6:12-13, "Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world. So put on all of God’s armor. Evil days will come. But you will be able to stand up to anything. And after you have done everything you can, you will still be standing." Amen!!!
Yes Mary, through unity in the Spirit we are walking each other home.
Amen.☮️

Thank you for your continued prayer for Jessi (my daughter, a 4th year medical student sponsored by the AirForce) by the power and prompting of the Holy Spirit! I share my joy in the Lord and praise to our Lord with you from Jessi, “XXXXXXX Army Medical Center Jessica is a reliable reporter with excellent history-taking and physical examination skills. Her presentations were thorough yet succinct, consistently covering all relevant aspects of patient cases. She developed solid, reasonable differential diagnoses and treatment plans, often incorporating symptom management strategies that can be overlooked at her level of training. Her ability to provide a comprehensive review of complex conditions, such as necrotizing soft tissue infections, showcased her depth of knowledge and commitment to patient care. Throughout her shifts, Jessica exhibited a professional demeanor and was an outstanding team player. Her enthusiasm and positive energy made her a pleasure to work with, and her bedside manner earned her high praise from patients. She consistently followed up with patients, reassessing their conditions and documenting her findings meticulously. Her proactive approach included educating patients about their care and emphasizing the importance of specific precautions. Jessica's adaptability and eagerness to learn were evident. She interpreted lab results effectively and included appropriate dispositions in her presentations. Her ability to manage a busy patient load, often exceeding expectations, demonstrated her readiness to function at the level of an intern. She handled consults smoothly and engaged constructively with the interdisciplinary team. While she is already performing at an impressive level, there are areas for continued growth. Focusing on the use of medical terminology and refining her understanding of certain clinical scenarios will enhance her proficiency further. Nevertheless, Jessica’s quick learning, receptiveness to feedback, and strong work ethic mark her as a top candidate for any residency program.”
