When I receive Living Faith assignments, I am always a bit excited to see which days I have been assigned. I have time and again experienced a real connection between my own spiritual journey and the days I have been given.
Today is the memorial of Pope St. John Paul II. I have a personal devotion and feeling of connection to him. I was ordained during his papacy. His writings and example are a beacon of holiness for me. I feel like he is personally watching over me although I never physically met him.
We often think that we choose our favorite saints, but I believe the opposite is true. Rather, God assigns these saints, with their specific talents and graces, to help us. I believe Pope St. John Paul II was chosen to help me.
Who are your favorite saints? Who did God choose for you?
An interesting devotion, Msgr. Rossetti. I had always thought about our guardian angels looking after us. Some doing a lot of overtime! Makes perfect sense to have the saints helping out too.
Who do you think Salina likes to connect with and devote to? Yes, Jesus! At all times for all times, period ✝️ *** Listen to what Paul said about the Jews in Ephesians 2:11, "Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts." *** Listen to what Paul said about the Gentiles in Ephesians 2:12-13, "In those days you (Gentiles) were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to Him through the blood of Christ!" *** Listen to what Paul said about the Jews and Gentile in Ephesians 2:14-16, "For Christ Himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in His own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in Himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death!" ******* What are you proud of in your faith? How much devotion and connection time do you have? Oh my Monsignor...I have a whole Litany of Saints that I absolutely KNOW have been assigned to me! Each has their specific special assignment in getting me through each day! God truly knows what He's doing!
Ken, where do you get your daily reading from Fr. Pio? I tried to find a place, but no luck.
Msgr wonderful words today. Thank you for the reminder to look to my saint. I had a step mother who told me Mary herself was my special lady but my saint is Kat Tekakwitha. I need to find out more about her haven’t found out much. Blessings to all the LFF. Extra hands to those with extra needs these days and may we spread the love of God through all the world
Good Morning Msgr. Stephen Rossetti, I always feel that the Saint assigned to me is St. Micheal. That was also my confirmation name that I chose! Have a great Day!
Thank you Mgsr Stephen. Lovely reflection. Like Gary, I am wishing a good morning to the St. assigned to me. Amen.
Lord please hear our prayers and bring your light to all those experiencing natural disasters, as well as those in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur, the Sudan, in addition to all those suffering around the world - also for their strength, courage and resilience to continue walking in faith. Send them your light. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Haiti, the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Darfur and Sudan. Please protect and send aid to those in need and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace and rebuilding– we who are working towards it and for all those who are suffering or in danger from conflicts. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.
Good morning to the saint assigned to me. May I I get to know you and provide a peaceful day for you Amen!
Thank you all for the prayers, songs and guidance Igor my daughter Katie. God bless all of you. I am so thankful for the prayers and for this Living Faith community.
I am honored to say that I’m drawn to St Padre Pio. All his prayers are so common sensible!

After watching the movie "Song of Bernadette" I was so moved by her story and now pray to her every day. I was blessed to have my Immaculate Conception necklace and rosary touch the container holding her relics. Another favorite saint is Padre Pio to whom I also pray every day. I also had the opportunity to have the necklace and a few rosaries touch the containers holding his relics. My namesake St. Jane Frances is another to whom I pray every day. There are so many more, but St. Bernadette, St. Pio, and St. Jane Frances are among my favorites.
