At times, we can feel overwhelmed by seeming impossible demands on our lives. In today’s Gospel, the disciples also felt overwhelmed with the thought of feeding the huge crowd.
In recent years, I have begun a deliverance ministry and have been surprised and overwhelmed with the flood of requests for deliverance. I have two steps that enable me to cope. First, I focus on helping one person at a time. Second, I daily commend my ministry to the Lord.
The first is a good coping technique. The second was the lesson the disciples learned with the multiplication of the loaves. By themselves, they were not able to feed all the people. But, with the help of Jesus, they could do the impossible.
Whether one is overwhelmed with the needs of one’s family, workplace or ministry, Jesus can make it all possible. Help one person at a time, and give it all to Jesus.
DAY TWENTY-SIX “Blessed and holy are those …” *** READ “Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6 *** REFLECT Revelation 20 describes Satan’s imprisonment, the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ, and Satan’s final defeat. While Christians interpret the details of this chapter differently, all agree that Jesus Christ will triumph. He will reign as King and exalt His people at His side. Satan experiences apparent victory now, but his deceit will end as he suffers God’s judgment for all eternity. Revelation 20 reminds us that God will eventually remove Satan forever, sealing the victory Jesus won at the cross. This year we will study sections of God’s Word about which devout Christians disagree. While we discuss, we do not have to divide. In unity, we can praise Jesus Christ and celebrate God’s victorious, redemptive power. For all who place their faith in Jesus as Lord, the promise of reigning with Christ for eternity gives us hope for today. *** PRAY Please pray for our upcoming study of Revelation: The Hope. Ask for God to make His Word clear to those who study by highlighting exactly what each individual needs to grasp. Pray for unity among members and leaders as we seek to make much of God’s glory through our study of His Word."

The key is to follow the Holy Spirit and live by His power in Galatians 5:16-18, "So I say, live by the Holy Spirit’s power. Then you will not do what your desires controlled by sin want you to do. The desires controlled by sin do not want what the Spirit delights in. And the Spirit does not want what the desires controlled by sin delight in. The two are at war with each other. That’s why you are not supposed to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the authority of the law!" *** A man from Baal Shalishah intended for one and God has planned for one hundred in 2 Kings 4:42-44, "A man came from Baal Shalishah. He brought the man of God (Elisha) 20 loaves of barley bread. They had been baked from the first grain that had ripened. The man also brought some heads of new grain. “Give this food to the people to eat,” Elisha said. “How can I put this in front of 100 men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. Do it because the Lord says, ‘They will eat and have some left over.’ " Then the servant put the food in front of them. They ate it and had some left over. It happened just as the Lord had said it would!" *** Phillip thought half of a year's pay to feed 5000 and Jesus multiplied 5 loaves and 3 fish to feed 5000 in John 6:7-13! *** Why did Jesus test Philip when He knew what He was going to do? ******* What question is Jesus asking you today, "Where/what/how can we ....... for ....... to .......?"
Amen

“At times, we can feel overwhelmed by seeming impossible demands on our lives.“ That opening line really resonates with me some days. LFF, please pray for my daughter in law’s mother, Susie. She was diagnosed with colorectal cancer recently and underwent surgery on Friday. She’s very anxious and worried about the path forward. My son, who is in the medical field said “She’s not a very good patient”. Let us pray for her medical team and the path forward is perfected by God’s plan, and that she may be comforted by the fact that Jesus has her in the palm of His divine hand.
Thanks to your son for his service to our country, and also thanks to you and your family for supporting his decision to serve. May God bless you.
*** These verses speak to me today ✝️ *** Galatians 6:7-10, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers!” Amen ✝️ *** Listen to what Peter told us in 2 Peter 3:3-10, “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the Word of His command, and He brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same Word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed. But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment!” Come, Lord Jesus ✝️
Good morning, I am feeling a little overwhelmed today as I am sending my oldest son off the Basic Training. I have never been away from him for more than 5 days and to think he will be gone for 7 months with all his training if overwhelming to me. I know he will do well and I am proud and excited for him. I have been praying to St. Michael to protect him. Also, praying for others that feel overwhelmed, this is a busy time and f year.

As we read the multiplication of loaves in today’s gospel, we must ponder the many and varied ways God has in fact multiplied our blessings, efforts, material goods, etc. Whether it is just enough to get by or abundance, we must trust that Christ is working in and through us to reach those around us. To truly multiply our faith’s word of God, we must not only be open to those close to us, but especially ready to share our faith and plant seeds with all peoples, at all times. I was once part of a deliverance ministry and wear a 3” St. Benedict Crucifix around my neck every day. It seems that this sacramental helps me multiply conversations every day about my faith. I am also a paid guitarist in the Diocese of Orange in California. I have many friends who play music, and frequent several types of music venues-even hard rock. It seems that God has led me to share my faith with those most would not. Since I came back to my faith 34 years ago, Jesus has multiplied my faith, courage, and willingness to share the Gospel with the outcasts of society. In other words, not “preaching to the choir”. God’s way are truly wondrous. I grew up in a neighborhood riddled with drug abusers, bikers, surfers and other. This experience has lead me to “be not afraid” and multiply my experience of God with the most unlikely!
