Which is more difficult to absorb—the infinite vastness of God’s work in Christ or the very small and personal ways he works? John the Evangelist was evidently in awe of both. John wanted to write down everything, big and small, but realized he couldn’t because we carry the greatness of God in very tiny vessels.
Our lives, too, can be the books that tell the story of the things Jesus has done—more than can ever be written dwells in each of us. Perhaps we can be evangelists by telling and retelling the Gospel, not as something far away and long ago but as real and living in our day. We need to do this for ourselves and for each other. It’s a sacred duty that nobody else can do for us.
Amen. :)
I certainly have a book of my life that I want to share with others. Until recently my life was all about me. I took God's blessings for granted or took credit for them myself. After living most of my life in darkness the light of God's light blinded me and I felt as though I had experienced my own Saul-Paul conversion. For the first time, my earthly life is a struggle and I face many uphill battles. I still have doubts and even complain to God, but know that he will be a light unto my path as he writes the remaining chapters of my life. My story is littered with joy, sorrow, darkness, happiness, struggles, redemption, reconciliation, conversion, a mansion in heaven, and more. All things found in the Gospel.
What a great idea, Vincent!!! You point me to John 21:24, "This is the disciple (John) who is a witness about these things. He also wrote them down. We know that what he says is true!" *** In a leaders' training at one of my Bible studies (Community Bible study), we were asked to write a 3-minute testimony of our own Salvation testifying to the work of the Holy Spirit, the sacrifice of Jesus, and the mercy and grace of God! *** How do you know what John said in the Gospel of John is true just because John said it is true??? *** How do you give testimony to those who don't know or believe in Jesus? ******* I asked myself these questions so I continue to seek His Kingdom first and He will provide answers and provisions as History, His story, my history unfolds :-) *** Here is one answer for me in John 21:19, 21, "Jesus said this to point out how Peter would die. His death would bring glory to God. Then Jesus said to him, “Follow me!”...Jesus answered, “Suppose I want him (John) to remain alive until I return. What does that matter to you? You must follow Me.” *** No matter how or when I die, my death will bring glory to God and all I have to do in this life is to to follow Jesus :-) *** The Jesus Way by Phil Wickham https://youtu.be/DCasxIJf1yY?si=hKqPc2z0m1AqauMI

Great devotion, Mary. It reminds us to everyday look for opportunities to share Jesus and to rejoice over the miracles that happen in our lives. I want to thank God for His love, answered prayers and forgiveness. Also thanks to all the prayers offered up by LFF for my daughter Cass. After over 6 months of chemo, the tumors have significantly shrunk. The Dr says she no longer is having a double mastectomy, but a single. It also looks like she won't have to do radiation after surgery. God answers prayers and blesses us in amazing ways. Her surgery is set for June. 17th as she continues this journey to healing. God is good, all the time and All the time God is good! Have a blessed Pentacost and may each of us renew the fire of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Every time I notice that something positive has happened in my life that comes from God I have noted it down in a notebook... usually small things. Over the years I have a notebook full of the things God has done for me and reading it gives me both a deep sense of awe and gratitude.
This concludes the Pentecost Novena. Thank you to those who followed it with me. I hope that your prayers and petitions were answered............... Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your love. Set our lives aflame with your gifts. Grant us: wisdom to choose what is good and true; understanding to embrace your plan of salvation; right judgment to act according to your will; courage to share our faith with others; knowledge to live as disciples of Jesus Christ; reverence to respond faithfully to your grace each day; and wonder and awe in your presence. Inspire us with enthusiasm for our Catholic faith. Grant us boldness to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ, and help us to bring the transforming power of the gospel to our world. We make this prayer through Christ, our Lord. AMEN. ...OUR FATHER, HAIL MARY, GLORY BE... And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. Acts 2: 3 - 4

Thank you for sharing and testifying to your history, His story, Rusty!!! Reminds me of exactly what Saul/Paul testifying in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, “God has shown me amazing and wonderful things. People should not think more of me because of it. So I wouldn’t become proud of myself, I was given a problem. This problem caused pain in my body. It is a messenger from Satan to make me suffer. Three times I begged the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, “My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So I am very happy to brag about how weak I am. Then Christ’s power can rest on me. Because of how I suffered for Christ, I’m glad that I am weak. I am glad in hard times. I am glad when people say mean things about me. I am glad when things are difficult. And I am glad when people make me suffer. When I am weak, I am strong!” *** God bless you, Rusty! I can’t wait to hear your sharing of your faith journey powered by the Holy Spirit, planned long ago by the Father and commissioned by Jesus, our Lord and Savior ❤️
