St. Joseph the Worker
Jesus, Mary and Joseph the Worker
I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me…
John 10:14

We are sometimes led to wonder what life must have been like within the household of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. St. Joseph must have labored hard as a carpenter to provide for Mary and Jesus, and to protect them from the world’s harmful realities. Yet, was there anything that Jesus’ foster father, Joseph, could have taught him?

A fascinating aspect of Joseph’s life is that he is often regarded as “the Silent Saint” because no words of his appear within the New Testament. He just faithfully executed what God has asked of him. Let us take ever more seriously that to which God is calling us—our vocation to follow him. With the powerful intercession of St. Joseph the Worker and the Blessed Virgin Mary, let us work for the Kingdom of God.

Lord Jesus Christ, guide us to follow the example of your earthly parents, Mary and Joseph, so that in imitating them we may be drawn deeper into your divine plan.

Continued prayers for the Ukraine. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Ukraine. Please protect and send aid to those in Ukraine and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace – we who are working towards it and for all who are in danger from this conflict. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God please help those in most need of thy mercy. Amen

Justin, what a wonderful world we would have if all fathers had the courage, strength and resiliency to maintain the family unit as St. Joseph did.

St. Joseph. A great example of “actions speak louder than words.” How we live is more important than what we say.

St. Joseph, pray for us. Especially our brother Joseph to carry out the duties in his new "forever" job to care for, protect, and provide for his new baby girl. Pray for our brother Dennis, also once a carpenter, even more advanced in age who's heart is failing him. Jesus knows their deepest needs, JMJ pray for us.
