I have a deep interest in history and am quite convicted of the importance of understanding it—both our individual, personal histories and the histories of our communities, our country, our Church.
It’s just one more way of coming to terms with and accepting human nature.
But there’s a limit. It’s a limit that we reach when, instead of being enlightened by our histories, we are tied down and imprisoned by them.
What freedom we have in Jesus. It’s the freedom of the present moment. The freedom of the absolute certainty that no matter where in life we’ve been, he’s with us now.
Beautiful reflection Amy, thank you. Amen!
May we all hold godly memories of the past close, let go of the hurtfulness of the not so good memories and live today as a new opportunity to climb above the muck in our past.Amen
Continued prayers here for the Ukraine and the conversion of Mr. Putin. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Ukraine. Please protect and send aid to those in Ukraine and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace – we pray for all who are working towards it and for all who are in danger from this conflict. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God, please help those in most need of thy mercy. Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us! Saint Joseph, Protector of Mary, Jesus and the Church, pray for us! Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, may your kingdom reign in Ukraine and all the world.
Amy, thank you for this and your many other wonderful reflections. What will stay with me today is “The past is gone.” May I be able to continue focusing on where Jesus is leading me now. Blessings to all the LFF.
Amen.
Thank you, Amy for another meaningful reflection. If we just realize that Jesus is there for us at every moment, our fears will subside. Praying for your brother, Bill. It’s so difficult watching a loved one in pain. God bless Rick and your whole family.
Lord we pray For Rick, Bill, and their families. You alone know every need and solution. You promised that if we ask anything in Your name You will listen and will never leave us to face our troubles alone. Thank you Jesus, for this we pray. Amen.

Amy, what a wonderful reflection on a difficult passage. Thank you!
To the Living Faith Family, it seems that my brother, Rick has been given a setback in his cancer treatment. More has been found. If the insurance people had done what his doctor first prescribed instead of what they felt, they could afford it may not have been so aggressive. Radiation is next. We are there to help him, but it is tough to see him in so much pain and all we can do is pray for him. Thank you in advance. Bill L.
