The Most Holy Trinity
Love Poured Into Our Hearts
…the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit…
Romans 5:5

When at Mass on this feast, I often wonder what the homilist will say about the Holy Trinity. This awesome mystery is hardly one that can be neatly defined. Every once in a while, I am inspired because the focus is on the love that moves through each of the three Persons and goes forth to embrace everyone. It is this Love that has been poured into our hearts to sustain us in good times and in the not-so-good. This Love is what I count on. I do not need a theological explanation to uplift and encourage my daily life. What I do need is the assurance of a God whose Love is so abundant that it pours like a full carafe of wine into my heart.

What a beautiful metaphor…His Love is so abundant that it pours like a full carafe of wine into my heart. I need to remind myself everyday of His Love for us. Amen

Sr Joyce thank you. I also heard this and would like to share with you and the living faith family Some of the church fathers tried to explain the Trinity is the use of the three leaf clover. Three distinct leaves but one clover reality. A another more contemporary image would that of the sun. The reality of the sun in the sky may be likened to the Father. The light that emanates from the sun may be likened to the Son. The warmth that we feel when the sun's light falls upon us may be likened to the Spirit.
