“Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!” And what joy we had yesterday or at the Saturday Vigil Mass, hearts and souls filled to bursting! What joy we had at dinner, talking and sharing with family and friends! What joy we had watching the young (and not-so-young) with their Easter baskets!
But today is another day, a day when we go back to work or to cooking or laundry or fixing the car or a million other seemingly mundane tasks. Let’s recognize these times for what they truly are—not mundane, but opportunities to carry the Good News to those who don’t know Jesus or who have let their relationship with him atrophy. Resolve to be a witness to the resurrection today in your actions and words. Show the Easter joy!
Amen.
Praying for your son Zach, KM and asking Our Lord to give him what he needs to be well. Let’s also pray for our Holy Father. I read comments that are so mean and untrue and it hurts my heart to know there’s people who say such vile things. Wishing Easter joy to all the Living Faith family and praying for peace in Ukraine and throughout the world.
Kelly and KM…I just read yesterday’s comments and please know that I have tucked your loved ones in my prayers. I could read the heartache in your words, but the responses from the LF Family, as always, were genuine in their hope to lift you and your families to feel God’s presence and peace. I pray that feeling continues for you today and the days ahead. God Bless us all and all who we love.
Confirming my mantra, "BUT GOD..." *** Acts 2:24, "BUT GOD raised Him up, releasing Him from the throes of death because it was impossible for Him to be held by it!" *** "Death could not hold You The veil tore before You You silence the boast of sin and grave The heavens are roaring The praise of Your glory For You are raised to life again!" What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship https://youtu.be/nQWFzMvCfLE *** This birth, death and resurrection of Jesus were all God's plan from the beginning, from the foundation of the earth, and from long ago!!! Acts 2:23, "This man (Jesus), delivered up by the set plan and foreknowledge of God, you killed, using lawless men to crucify Him!" ******* Is there anything of what you are going through that God does not know and did not plan? *** Isaiah 37:26ab, "But have you not heard? I decided this long ago. Long ago I planned it, and now I am making it happen!" *** 2 Timothy 1:9-10, "For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time—to show us His grace through Christ Jesus. And now He has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News!" *** Isaiah 25:1, "O Lord, I will honor and praise Your Name, for You are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now You have accomplished them!" ****** Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) by Hillsong United https://youtu.be/RLfOHwI6hcw "You take our failure, You take our weakness You set Your treasure in jars of clay So take this heart, Lord, I'll be Your vessel The world to see, Your life in me!" Amen!!! 2 Corinthians 4:7-11, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that His life may also be revealed in our mortal body!" :-):-):-)
I want to thank everyone for the prayers yesterday. Your prayer was and is powerful! Your comments were so uplifting! They brought me to tears. Easter is our greatest celebration and mine started off sadly, yet hopefully. I do sometimes doubt the efficacy of my prayer. But I kept reminding myself, Jesus I trust in You! One of my sons and his wife surprised me by showing up at Mass in our home parish. I was so happy to see them! Yesterday’s Mass was beautiful! The sun was shining brilliantly. I kept placing my son Zach into the hands of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We celebrated Easter as a family! We have a long way to go with Zach, but God is good and merciful and loving. I had to respond today to thank all who prayed for us, those who left comments and those who silently lifted us up. God is good! I am grateful!
Thank you Melanie for the beautiful reflection. As I sit here readying my day, what you write is true. The Easter joy is still with me from a beautiful day yesterday and I’m hoping that I show witness to it in my words and deeds today. Continued prayers for all those who are lonely or afraid. Happy Easter LFF.
Continued prayers here for the Ukraine and the conversion of Mr. Putin. Father in Heaven, have mercy on us and on the whole world! You sent Your Son, the Prince of Peace, for the salvation of the world. We pray that the Peace of Christ will reign in Ukraine. Please protect and send aid to those in Ukraine and all who are at-risk. We pray for peace – we pray for all who are working towards it and for all who are in danger from this conflict. We pray for an end to violence and war – we pray for wisdom for all leaders who have a hand in this. Lord God, please help those in most need of thy mercy. Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us! Saint Joseph, Protector of Mary, Jesus and the Church, pray for us! Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, may your kingdom reign in Ukraine and all the world.
Amen. Thank you Holy Father for this beautiful day and for this Gospel today. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for my faith, my life and for my family. Thank you Holy Father, most of all, for your great sacrifice and for the opportunity of forgiveness and reconciliation. Please Lord Jesus Christ have mercy. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless Glory. Amen Holy Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask that you release your warrior angels and heavenly hosts. We decry and declare that they would take us off the enemies' radar and scramble the enemies' frequencies (airwaves). Your Kingdom must come now. Your will must be done right now, as in the heavens, also on earth. Amen Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God - Cast into hell satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

So true, Melanie. Today, just as the day after Christmas, seems like just another mundane day. We must continue the celebration and "Go out to all the world and tell the Good News".
