St. Thomas
‘Built Together’
…in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God…
Ephesians 2:22

Together! For many months of the coronavirus pandemic, much togetherness has been sacrificed in the name of social distancing to avoid spreading the virus. We had to get creative with window visits, outdoor holiday gatherings and countless video meetings. We made more phone calls and sent actual handwritten letters to stay in touch. We made those efforts because we are members of the household of God! We needed to keep the dwelling standing in challenging times. Superfluous distractions were pruned away in order to stay steady and to survive together. Some days we took care of our house better than on other days. But even then, Jesus held the structure together, himself the capstone.

Let’s not forget. Let’s continue to repair our temple and make it a splendid dwelling, sacred in the Lord.

Lord, I dwell in your house. Show me how I need to repair it!

Ephesians 2:20b-22, "with Christ Jesus Himself as the capstone. Through Him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." *** What is the 'temple?' 1) A dwelling place of God in the Spirit! 2) Built together with all of Christ followers in Jesus! 3) A sacred place in the Lord! 4) A whole structure held together through Jesus! 5) Jesus is the Capstone! *** Is it a building? Is it a specific church? Is it a particular group? No! * 1 Corinthians 3:16, "Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?" * 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." * 2 Corinthians 6:16, "For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” *** So the temple is where God is :-) * Acts 17:24, "The God Who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands." * John 4:20-24, (Samaritan woman,) "So tell me, why is it that You (Jesus) Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?” Jesus replied, “Believe Me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for Salvation comes through the Jews (Jesus). But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” * Ephesians 1:22-23, "And God placed all things under His (Jesus) feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills everything in every way." ******* The temple is where Jesus is...He is the Cornerstone...He holds us together wherever we are...I am the temple and we are the temple where Jesus is as we gather together to worship in truth and spirit physically or online...That is the Good News :-)

Genesis 22 Isaac ask his father "but where is the sheep for sacrifice" Abraham says " God will provide " Now the story, our parish pastor supports a mission in Africa, they have a clinic but no water or electricity they asked for help father Ron got some money together to start with the project . After starting they said what we do for the other half , Father Ron said "God will provide. " fast forward some months and the parish is going to celebrate Ron's birthday and anniversary of being ordained . He said don't give me anything but donate to the African community. We collected enough to finish the project God did provide Ken
