The Nativity of St. John the Baptist
Dedicated to God
For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.
Luke 1:66

Even before his birth, circumstances were such that John the Baptist’s parents sensed their son’s uniqueness. John had a mission and he fulfilled it. No matter what our parental heritage or the situation regarding our birth, none of us can claim John’s history. I doubt any of us had angels making announcements before our birth or fathers whose voice was silenced until our arrival. And yet, as far removed as our lives might  seem to be from this historical figure, they are not.

God also has a desire for our lives. Each of us in our mother’s womb was also known to God. Each of us  at our birth was already on a journey of dedication, called to a life of reflecting the goodness of God. Each  of us, in our own way, is on a mission to be fulfilled. May we live in such a way that we carry the message  John carried: “Have a clean heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus and his teachings. Desire to do good.”

Today, we celebrate the birth of John the Baptist, Jesus’s cousin. I was trying to think of a few words that would best describe John. Fearless, strong, determined, beacon of light, confident are a fee that come to mind. Do we have some of these same qualities. To help, to continue to bring the Jesus’s light to others, we will need to be armed with many of these same qualities. Are we ready. There is too much darkness in the world today that needs our beacon of light to shine. As we heard earlier this week, they, others will be able to see our good fruit by our actions towards the world and others, our neighbors. The same is true with the Light Of Christ, to shine in the darkness of the world. As we bring the light, they will be able to see. John deep down knew the role that God chose for him to play in the world, so that his one and only son our Lord Jesus Christ would have path paved to begin his own ministry. John, thank you for your messages, baptisms, and all of the great qualities to have to help us have the church, faith we have today. Happy Birthday John, may your beacon light burn bright. Amen. Dear Jesus, please hear our prayers brought to your feet today by this Living Faith Family, may we continue bring the prayers of the one who have no one to pray for them and for all of the souls in Purgatory, we pray. Amen

Is Jesus at home in your heart today? Would you have to clean house first if He was to come visit? What would you not want him to see? Jesus help me keep my heart clean, so others can see you through me. Praying for rain.

Reminds me of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” *** I can hear God saying to you and I what Isaiah declared in Isaiah 49:1-6, “Hear me, xxxxxxx, listen, xxxxxxx. The LORD called me (Salina and your name) from birth, from my mother’s womb He gave me my name. He made of me a sharp-edged sword and concealed me in the shadow of His arm. He made me a polished arrow, in His quiver He hid me. You are my servant, He said to me, xxxxxxx (the community where you and I live) through whom I show My glory. Though I thought I had toiled in vain, and for nothing, uselessly, spent my strength, yet my reward is with the LORD, my recompense is with my God. For now the LORD has spoken Who formed me as His servant from the womb, that xxxxxxx may be brought back to Him and xxxxxxx gathered to Him; and I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength! It is too little, He says, for you to be my servant, to raise up xxxxxxx, and restore the survivors of xxxxxxx; I will make you a light to the nations, that My Salvation may reach to the ends of the earth!” Amen! Can you hear it? *** Today’s reading tells me all the people: Isaiah, Paul, king David, John the Baptist, the psalmist, Elizabeth and Zachariah…God has prepared them for His purpose and for His glory! *** Do you know you are wonderfully made? As it was with all the saints mentioned above in today’s readings!!! ******* I for one is very grateful and joyful with the work God has prepared me to do not in my own strength and timing, but in His strength and timing :-) Joyful by Dante Bowe at K-LOVE Fan Award 2021 https://youtu.be/dQU1HFIkMKU

Amen. Beautiful reflection Sr Rupp. It brings my heart so much joy to believe the hand of the Lord is with all of us. That we are all on our journey as little missionaries. Prayers for all. Tim, I also recently started reading the Diary of St Faustina. I’m following along with St Faustina’s Diary in a year podcast. Every reading is followed by a wonderful reflection by Father Roesch.

EM, it is changing my life. He is speaking to me through her. My heart is being filled with much love, joy and awareness of his mercy that he has for each of us. And his message to all of us is getting clearer with each page I read. I bring the Diary to adoration, as you are able to see, this is when Jesus speaks to St. Faustina the most. Thank you for sharing this with me. Amen.
