There are a lot of ugly things going on in this world. I would like to think that the world is slowly becoming a better place, but I am not so sure. I would like to think that human effort could transform this world into the family of love that it should be, but there are too many examples to the contrary. Despair knocks at the door.
More than ever, the importance of this day is before us. Without the saving act of Jesus, we would be without hope. The resurrection alone is the assurance of the triumph of love over all that is dark and evil.
Today and each day forward, we can hold up our heads. The seeds of hope are planted. What we could not do, God has done for us. On this Easter morn, we rest in God and give thanks.
