The Baptism of the Lord
More Awaits
The people were filled with expectation...
Luke 3:15
That's us. We're those people still, filled with expectation there on the riverbank. When I go to Mass, that's what I sense. Even as I focus on the Lord and his presence at that moment, I can't help but glance around me from time to time, wondering and thankful. Look at all of us gathered here: so different, on journeys varied and winding, but journeys that brought each of us to this same place. But here we are, bringing with us contentment, concern, hope, despair, trust and questions. We have so much, but we know more awaits us: more love, more life, more mercy, more light. We've heard that this is the place where it just might be shining, and so here we are.
Jesus, in you, my hopes are fulfilled.

Thank you Amy for your devotion.

God's beloved Son, with whom He is well pleased is coming with great power. He will care for us, give us hope, lead and guide us to righteousness and save all who accept that He is the Son of God.

Prepare the way of the LORD! "Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all people shall see it together".

God Bless the Living Faith Family!

For those who believe Jesus has fulfilled the prophecy of the Messiah, their expectation is met. However, for those who still await the Messiah to come conquer their enemies and be their King, their expectation is not met!

Is your expectation being met?

Most of the Jews are still awaiting for their Messiah because Jesus didn't meet their expectation! They created their own expectations, not the One prophesied and described in Scripture!!!

What are my expectations? To do good? To do more good? So I can be a child of God? So God will love me? So God will be pleased with me? Yes, yes, no, no and yes!

Titus 3:4-7, "
* When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.
* He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
* Because of His grace He made us right in His sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

It is all about God's Love, Mercy and Grace! Nothing about the good that I did, do or will do! The thief on the cross didn't do anything to be saved but he is in paradise with Jesus! Luke 23:39-43

O LORD, my God, you are great indeed! You are clothed with majesty and glory, robed in light as with a cloak. You have spread out the heavens like a tent-cloth; You have constructed Your palace upon the waters. You make the clouds your chariot; You travel on the wings of the wind. You make the winds Your messengers, and flaming fire Your minister! O bless the Lord, my soul! Amen! (Psalm 104:1-4)
