Shaking off the Dust
For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich.
Matthew 25:29
My neighbor has a vintage red-and-white recreational vehicle parked in her driveway, a few feet from my kitchen window. We have lived here for five years, and it's never been moved, no one's ever used it or even cracked a door open on it, as far as I can tell. The years go by, the colors fade, dust collects, and there it sits. I try not to be "that neighbor," but yes, it irritates me at times. Why does she have it sitting there collecting dust and really not being at all picturesque if she's not going to use it? But then I listen to what I'm saying, and I accept that perhaps I'd be better off turning that question around. What has the Lord given me? What am I doing with it? Is it just sitting there, deep within, gathering dust?
Jesus, may I boldly share the gifts you have given me with others today.

Amen, Amy to your reflection.

Lord, please help me to recognize and distinguish the gifts that you have given deep within me that have been collecting dust and start sharing them with others. Amen

Thank you for always being with me, Lord.

Eye opening reflection today. Reminds me of what my father used to say, focus on our own blessings and gifts and not on our neighbors. He used to follow that up by saying we have enough to worry about.

Lord, please remind me today of how wonderful our life is by having with you in it.

I'm smiling at your comments, Amy :-) My husband and I feel about each other stuff that exactly, his tools and hunting equipment and my shelves of books and stationaries which I don't read or use!!! What is/are sitting in my house collecting dust that I labor in cleaning every week?

Not only did the servant not faithful with the talents given, he was not good because he complained and accused the master being a demanding person, harvesting where he did not plant and gathering where he did not scatter!

I know I should take care of my shelves of books and stationaries scattered, but instead I turn the focus away and complaint about his tool and hunting stuff all around.......I am just like that wicked and lazy servant :-(

I will at least organize them this weekend! Who can I give the books to? Give me the talent of reading, please Lord!

Paradoxes in God's economy in 1 Corinthians 1:27-28, "
* God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise
* God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong
* God chose the lowly and despised of the world those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something,"

Why? 1 Corinthians 1:29-30, "
* so that no human being might boast before God.
* It is due to Him that you are in Christ Jesus,
* Who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,"

What to do now? ! Corinthians 1:31, "Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord!"

Help me to develop the fear/reverent of the Lord because it is the beginning of knowledge; don't let me become fools to despise Your wisdom and instructions! (Proverbs 1:7) The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech You hate. (Proverbs 8:13) Help me not to complain about your people, everyone who You died for! Praise You, my Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless glory! Amen!
