St. Camillus de Lellis
Just a Dream
Shall he who shaped the ear not hear?
or he who formed the eye not see?
Psalm 94:9
I don't have as many anxiety dreams as I used to. But when they occur, they share the same setting as they always have: I'm in the classroom, either as a student or a teacher, unprepared to either take or give an exam. Or I have to get to school and I just can't. What a relief it is to realize--either in the midst of it or upon awaking--that it was, indeed, just a dream. Sometimes my waking life can be filled with different sorts of anxiety and worry. What a relief it is when I read the psalmist in the midst of it all and realize that God sees and hears all, that the fear that I am in this all alone is, indeed, nothing but a dream.
Loving God, I rest my worries in you, trusting in your care.

One word as I read every single devotion here today.

WOW, what strong Faith. Jesus's heart is moved indeed.

Thank you for allowing me sinner and a everyday type of person to be part of such a wonderful faith filled family such as the Living Faith Family.

As everyone here today we have our troubles on our journey but as I have read here, God is wrapping his loving arms around me, I feel comfort, reassured that I am not alone.

Matter of fact when I hear others challenges here mine seem small.

May Jesus continue to dwell in my heart as I plow through this uncertainty in my life and I only have this one wish, to have Jesus hear all of your prayers here today and give you all much peace.

May the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and his strength be with each and everyone of you here today.

Thank You.

Your are in my prayers this morning. Sitting with mom at the oncologist/radiologist and other numerous times and dealing with my own Muscular Dystrophy, God is ALWAYS putting someone in my path and I, to my chagrin, I’m always still amazed. The thing is , my friend, do not discount that you, even though you may not realize it, may be in someone else’s path and that’s the greatest feeling—God letting him share part of Himself!

Amy! Thank you and Living Faith for this meditation. I have periods in life where I have had dreams of both being unprepared for school and either unprepared for work as a nurse or not being able to work fast enough on the hospital floor. We all need to know that we are not alone in our worries. We all need to be reminded that our problem is not new to God and that He is there for me just as He is there for you. Living Faith, continue to be different from the other current meditations in that you help us all find The Lord in our real life needs.

Vicky, I can relate to your unprepared dreams. As a nurse, I have had nightmares of being at work and not being able to get any of my work done, and everything is in turmoil. So thankful to wake up and find it was just a dream, and know that God is always with us. Grateful for our Living Faith Family; may God continue to bless us all.

I giggled when I read your words "your problem is not new to God..."
I keep thinking I'm praying for the first time!

I lost that special "peace" I had come to know as I was sitting in the waiting room of a new oncologist (my doctor retired!). I thought it was just going to be a "meet and greet" but after they got my records, they ordered "the works"! Realizing that 5 vials of blood was more than I've had taken in years, anxiety started to build. I sat next to a lady who was there for her first radiation treatment. She was serenely calm. She said everyone asks her why she's so calm and her reply was "Because I know who's in charge".
I tucked that in my heart and then started worked on getting my blood pressure down from 172/89!
Love how God puts people in our path, kinda how I feel about the Living Faith Family!
God Bless us all and all who we love!

Amen. All too familiar with Amy's dreams! Resting our cares in God in real life, however, isn't as easy as waiting to wake up. Trusting God--that's a high maintenance virtue, but if we remain aware that He is right here with us, that helps.

What is the Psalmist saying to me this morning? Psalm 94:14a, "The Lord will not abandon His people!"

No matter what the situation looks like in Isaiah 10. God did not abandon His people as we know now from history...

Matthew 11:27, "No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

My situation looks troublesome and bothersome and hidden...can You reveal it to me?

Matthew 11:28, "“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Yes, Lord! You are faithful! You are the same yesterday, today and forever! Give me the faith I need, so faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ. (Romans 10:17) I know and I believe You will not abandon me. Help my unbelief and help me to come to You and receive Your rest! Amen!

Amen. Thank you Holy Father for this day and for today's Gospel. Thank you Lord for my faith, my life and for my family. Thank you Holy Father most of all for your great sacrifice and for the opportunity of forgiveness and Reconcilliation. Please Lord have mercy. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, now and forever. Amen

If I could relate my life to a movie title, it would be, "It's a Wonderful Life." My life is wonderful. But once in a while, my wonderful life has moments of not so wonderful. Those are the times, like now, that I rely most on Jesus. He wraps His loving arms around me and I know that all will be okay.
