Going Outside
...the man who had been possessed pleaded to remain with him. But Jesus would not permit him but told him instead, "Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you."
Mark 5:18-19
Inside this church, it is warm and dry. Light filters through stained glass and shines on friendly, familiar faces. Led by the choir, we chant praise, joining our voices to the saints. The Lord comes among us. As I pause at the church door on my way out, I'm met by the chill that lies outside. I know that I'll encounter strangers and much that's unfamiliar out there. It's far more comfortable inside. But I can't stay. Instead, I'm called to go out there with the Good News of the One I met inside.
Lord Jesus, may I be unafraid to share what you have done for me.

I hope the Lord has pity on all of us miserable sinners.
We are unworthy of His Love.

Yes Salina, you and Matt are tucked tight in my prayers.
Praying for an uneventful steady recovery.
God Bless!

I loved reading this devotional! It should always be warm inside the church, but sometimes it is not. We have to remember that we are all there for spiritual uplifting and edification. Sometimes there is petty stuff and judging going on in church. Let us hope that we do want to stay inside more than we want to exit. Spreading the Good News and warmth of our Christian experience is ideally what we want.

I love your prayer, Amy! "Lord Jesus, may I be unafraid to share what You have done for me!"

As I read the Gospel today, I can't help but to notice
1. these two events in Matthew 5:13, "
* the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine.
* The herd of about two thousand rushed down a steep bank into the sea, where they were drowned."
2. And the reactions of the town people in Matthew 5:15b, 17,"
* And they were seized with fear...
* Then they began to beg him to leave their district.

Their loss of business/livelihood in the two thousand swines overshadowed the power of Jesus displayed in the healing of this troubled man with unclean spirit!

How do I do the same thing as the town people did in today's circumstance of my life?

But You, O LORD, are my shield; my glory, You lift up my head! When I call out to the LORD, You answer me from Your Holy mountain. When I lie down in sleep, I wake again, for the LORD sustains me. I fear not the myriads of people (or the unknown future for Matt) arrayed against me on every side. Lord, rise up and save me. Amen! (Psalm 3:4-7)

It brings tears to my eyes as I read the comments...prayers...you have for my husband and I! Your love is felt no matter where you are, no matter whether you wrote your comments/prayers or not, and no matter whether you said it out loud or in silence.......your prayers and your thoughts have been heard and are being heard on high!

It has been a difficult couple of days...knowing and yet not knowing! I took Matt into ER Sat morning with his left face drooping. He was admitted to the hospital after the CT scan. a lot of testings and medical intake questions Saturday.

Sharing with you my Instagram posts on Sunday without the pictures this weekend:

1. Matt is talking to his sister.......had a TIA infarction (some kind of brain fart :-) Going home today working on diabetes 440 mg/dL with AIC 10.4% (insulin temporarily), high blood pressure 179/130 (increase dose on medicine), and high cholesterol (new medicine). Thank God!
2. That's me in Matt's hospital bed! He s much better this morning......Thank you for all who prayed!
* Labor & Delivery? (comment from my friend questioning the location of my post)
* My reply: Second floor is the Labor & Delivery! Instagram gives me the only choice. Fifth floor is the stroke center! Come to think of it...Labor & Delivery is appropriate! God has delivered us from this 33 hours (9am Sat to 5pm Sun) of labor! New life is given!
3. My sweetheart is home catching up on his sleep. resting and renewing his brain cells! Psalm 100:4-5, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful t Him, and bless His Name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Amen!

Yes, we're scared! We are also standing in our sure hope because we have a great and faithful God! I love Him so much knowing He is always with us and love us so much in sending His only Son, Jesus, to die so we can live!

I don't even know what else to think or say at this time...I wish I can take his place instead. But I know I have the LF family praying for us when I know and don't know how or what to pray! I love you guys, lots!

Salina, good to hear the NIH dietary program is working for you.
The strength of your faith, hope, love and trust in God is a true inspiration and blessing to others. May your family continue to receive God’s healing grace, for His glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Thank you, Gregg!

Matt has changed his diet when he found out he has diabetes a few years ago. He didn't want to take medication, so lost 30 lbs by eating clean :-) But he kept changing his appointment with his primary care doctor, first he is new to the area looking for a doctor, then his schedule and so on...we know the excuses men (sorry, I believe this is gender common description) has for not wanting to see or keep the yearly appointment with the doctor regularly! Then the cholesterol medication side effect of muscle pain kept him up at night, so he took the medication off too.

Drinking at night may be the culprit? To relax, he likes to stay up late and takes a couple of beers or a glass of wine.....

I am a type II diabetic myself enrolled in NIH clinical study for diabetes for the last 15 years. I control my glucose by diet and exercise, so far is under control. My doctor told me I would eventually have diabetes because I was pregnant with gestational diabetes.

Pray for God's encouragement and provision in night sleep and muscle ache to subside and disappear! In Jesus' powerful Name and His glory sake, I pray! Amen!

Salina, continued prayers for your family and healing for your husband.
If this is type 2 diabetes, numerous studies have shown nutritional dietary changes can assist in improving insulin response and cholesterol levels. Increasing numbers of medical professionals are combining traditional therapies with dietary programs. You may want to research the NCBI US National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health (NIH), May 2017 article (PMC5466941): “A plant-based diet for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes”

God bless all you continue to do for others in Jesus’ Name.

Good Monday Morning to my Living Faith Family.

In our lives today we should try to share with others the true way we feel about our faith. I am a salesman and all of my customers always know where I stand on my faith and me of their’s.

I simply use this platform to share the word.

I love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart, mind and soul. I feel sometimes it is my responsibility to share with others, give them the same opportunity to enjoy and experience the joy found in the word.

Give praise today and everyday.

God Bless.
