Friday within the Octave of Easter
In His Presence
When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tucked in his garment, for he was lightly clad, and jumped into the sea.
John 21:7
After the Resurrection, Jesus appeared at the Sea of Tiberias in the miracle of a catch of fish so great the disciples could not haul it into the boat. Although they were close to shore, Peter could not wait to be in the presence of Jesus and so leapt half-dressed over the side and swam to him. I hardly ever get to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I'm busy or, like the disciples, tired from a grueling or disappointing day. I forget that Jesus is waiting patiently for me in the Eucharist, his presence every bit as immediate as it was to Peter. I don't have to jump into the cold sea and swim--all I have to do is remember to make a little time and space in my life to be with him.
Dear Jesus, fill my heart with yearning to be in your presence.

Dear Anne, I feel so compelled to wrtie to you after reading your comment for today's reading. If you have perpetual Adoration in your area, please do sign up for an hour, at least once a week.
We have had our chapel for 20 yrs now!!!!!! Yes, that is right, 20 yrs. Your comment stated that you don't get to Adoration very often, so I figured you don't have a chapel that is perpetual?
The time spent with HIM is so awesome and comforting to HIM and to you.
thank you for your comment in today's reading April 25, 2014--Anne Pushkal

That's good advice - I don't have a chapel nearby but I think I could try to find one that's not too far. Thank you for writing.
