Thank you Amy for such a wonderful inspiration. I always love
visiting a beautiful church whenever I'm near one.
Lord, help me to always offer a welcome to others in Your name. Amen.
"Lord, may I live a spirit of welcome to all this season".
My mantra for the rest of Advent...and God willing - always!
Thank you Amy. I agree, I felt as if I was there in Savannah
with you. Beautiful image. Thank you again.
So welcoming and so peaceful!
Even more so with the picture Isaiah described in 11:6-9a, "Then the wolf
shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the
kid; the calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little
child to guide them. The cow and the bear shall be neighbors, together
their young shall rest; the lion shall eat hay like the ox. The baby
shall play by the cobra’s den, and the child lay his hand on the adder’s
lair. There shall be no harm or ruin on all My Holy mountain;"
Can you imagine that scene above? How will it happen? Hear the answer in
Isaiah 11:9b, "for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the LORD,
as water covers the sea."
When we know Jesus, we know peace as Jack has said it before.......Know
Jesus, know peace! No Jesus, no peace!
Jesus is coming back soon! Isaiah described it this way in 11:3-5, "And
His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what
His eyes see, or decide disputes by what His ears hear, but with
righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the
meek of the earth; and He shall strike the earth with the rod of His
mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall kill the wicked.
Righteousness shall be the belt of His waist, and faithfulness the belt
of His loins."
I love the book of Isaiah - it is called the Gospel of the Old
With the Psalm and today's readings, I pray, "Lord Jesus, justice shall
flourish in Your time, and fullness of peace for ever. May the God of
endurance and encouragement
grant us to think in harmony with one another, in keeping with You,
Christ Jesus, that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us to welcome one another,
then, as Christ welcomed us, for the glory of God, Lord Jesus Christ. May
we be an unified voice of one crying out in the desert,
prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths for His people. We
don't want to be religious people like the Pharisees and Sadducees of
Your days! Baptize us with Your Holy Spirit and fire as we watch for Your
beauty in the faces we encounter this Christmas season! Amen!
What wonderful scenario as we look forward to the "Birth of the
Btw, interesting about the book of Isaiah being the "gospel of the
OT"...had never heard that...Thanks Salina!
Our parish had Eucharistic Adoration for vocations to the
priesthood this weekend. When I went in the church at 6 o' clock this
morning, there was the monstrance on the altar and right below it was the
creche. Baby Jesus wasn't their yet but just seeing those adoring figures
in their places already and the monstrance hovering on the altar...Well
it was a special moment.
Thank you Amy for the lovely sharing! God bless all the LF family during
Lovely reflection. I felt like I was there
