'The Cure for Today's Ills'

St. Hedwig, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Do not be afraid.

- Luke 12:7

Today we celebrate a seventeenth century French nun, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The message the Lord gave her almost 300 years ago, devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is as important today as it was then. From this heart flow the three inexhaustible streams of divine mercy, charity and love.

There is so much fear in our world today. We are tempted to distrust, to close ourselves off emotionally and to focus solely on ourselves. We may even be tempted to distrust the one Source of true peace and hope. In more modern times, another sainted nun gave us a similar devotion. St. Maria Faustina Kowalska (1905+1938) once again revealed the critical message of God's infinite mercy.

It is clear that God's prescription for what ails us today is, as it was then, nothing else than his mercy. It is the only thing that can cure us. Have you taken the cure yet?

- Msgr. Stephen J. Rossetti

Msgr. Stephen, thank you for your wonderful devotion and your reminder: "It is clear that God's prescription for what ails us today is, as it was then, nothing else than his mercy. It is the only thing that can cure us."

In Jesus Christ, we are connected to the very power of God, we were chosen, We are born and destined to do His will, and to praise Him and His Glory.

So, no matter how much violence is going on, and how many tests and trials we go through, we have a place of safety in Jesus Christ. We have His infinite "Mercy". "Do not be afraid." Amen.

God Bless our Living Faith Family and continued prayers for all.

I am humbly blessed to know the Lord’s inexhaustible mercy in my life.
Yesterday I had an echocardiogram and the tech told me that I had a “beautiful heart”.
It was from a medical observation but when I heard him say it, my heart smiled and I was overwhelmed with gratitude to God.
God Bless us all and all who we love.

"whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops"

When did you last receive the sacrament of Reconciliation? Today I will go to confession.

Amen! Thank you Holy Father for this beautiful day and for these Gospels today. Thank you Lord for my faith, my life and for my family. Thank you Holy Father, most of all, for your great sacrifice and for the opportunity of forgiveness and reconciliation. Please Lord have mercy. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless Glory. Amen

I'd like to know more about God's charity and how it differs from His love.

Oh the divine mercy of God! There in is my hiding place! When I am hidden in the sacred heart of Jesus, I am safe indeed! I have no fears because he holds me and with his divine providence takes care of all of my needs! I am safe indeed! Do I need to fear, no! Because God has even counted the hairs on my head! I am safe indeed! Let me thank him for his marvelous care of my soul! I am constantly totally amazed at how God takes care of me moment by moment! Trust in the mercy of God. Trust in his infinite love! Trust that he knows exactly what you need when you need it! and let him do for you what he knows best and then you have perfect joy! Talk to him, listen to him, trust in him! DO NOT BE AFRAID!

Perfect love casts out all fear. The opposite of love is not hate it is fear. Fear leads us to isolation, and self talk that is defeating and energy sapping. Well said Msgr. Stephen and Jo.
