'Challenges and Blessings'

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross

...with their patience worn out by the journey, the people complained against God...

- Numbers 21:4-5

This past Thanksgiving, my daughter flew into Milwaukee from San Francisco. It was to be a short visit: arrive late Wednesday evening and return to the West Coast Saturday afternoon. November in the Midwest! Of course, weather was an issue. She was delayed coming and really delayed returning. I felt so bad for her, but as she waited five hours in Minneapolis, she delighted in seeing the beautiful snow, a rarity for her. She treated herself to McDonald's and enjoyed the airport shops. She was due to open at work on Sunday morning and the Lord blessed her with a co-worker who volunteered to take her shift, so she had the day off when she finally reached San Francisco.

So often our patience is worn thin by the journey of life. Yet we do have a choice in our attitude. The Israelites suffered many challenges before they reached the Promised Land. The Lord sent many blessings as well. The same is true of our journey!

A beautiful devotion and a gentle reminder to always be mindful of His mercy and grace despite the challenges that we face. :-)

Another wonderful devotion, thank you Jennifer.

Yes, our journey of life and our crosses that we bear wears us down at times and through our humanness, we tend to complain. Although we do have a choice in our attitudes, we must always remember all the mercy and blessings that Jesus has sent and provided us throughout our journey and will help us keep an uplifting attitude.

Remembering that God is our Rock, our Foundation, will fill our hearts with hope, encouragement and will keep our faith alive. Amen.

God Bless our Living Faith Family and continued prayers for all. Prayers for all those in the midst of the destructive wildfires.

Jennifer thank you for your reminder of conscience of attitude.

Do you hear the complaining? It still is happening some 2,000 plus years later.

Let us look within and not always complain, the wide path not the narrow path, a path traveled by a lot of us lately.

Rather let us direct our attention to the celebration of the cross, yes a celebration.

Today, we are reminded of the cross that Jesus took up for all of us, let us take a moment in our day, hopefully first thing and STOP and pray with him and thank him.

Today, we see crosses hung all over in our world, in our churches, our homes, above a baby’s crib, a special pray area in our homes, around our necks on a China or on a sting. This reminder is what Jesus Loves. Jesus wants us to remember, and notice the sacrifice he was wiling to endure for us to have a chance reach the promise land.

Today, remember how our attitude is, remember how we treat others, remember the golden rule, that Jesus and the cross represents.

Blessed are we all who tase our eyes upon his cross today with respect and reverence.

Prayers today for all of our Living Faith Family intentions.
